    Bolts for attaching 2425J

    Hi folks,

Can someone tell me what kind of bolts should be used for attaching a 2425J driver to a 2370A horn? I thought I saw a document somewhere that said to use 1/4-20 1" bolts but I want to confirm before I get them. I could take the driver to the hardware store but I thought I'd try here first.

    Thanks,
    Jim.

It depends on the thickness of the mounting flange on the horn. They vary. I would measure the flange and add about 3/8". The thread depth into the driver must be at least equal to the bolt diameter (1/4") and not bottom out in the hole.

Stick something into the tapped hole to measure the depth, and don't exceed that depth. If it is too long, you won't be able to tighten down the bolt and you dont want to push it in. No telling what is on the otherside.

    Good luck,

it seems al driver / horn combinations are different in this respect.

Here in Europe I found it hard to find the right bolts. Finally I managed to get different lenghts at a shop that specializes in old Harley Davidson parts.

But bolt wise, I can now bolt every horn to every driver! Life is good.

2370A horn flange is 1/2" thick.

    See the drawing here: http://www.jblpro.com/pages/pub/components/2370a.pdf

By the time you use a flat washer there (advised, so as not to damage the flange,) you'll want 1" bolts, though 3/4" will also work, marginally....
