Please give us some insight as to the comparisons you have found between old and new drivers. If anyone could possibly preserve tradition I think it would be Bill at GPA.
A friend Dave WOJO who also is a member here has wonderfull things to say about new GPA offerings.
Could this be the vintage gear of tomorrow?

When I went to Great Plains Audio Bill had a kid (20 something year old audio wiz) that also works there and there was a woman possibly his wife that was in a room filled with test equipment ect doing something but don't know what as I walked by the door and looked in.This was on a saturday morning maybe during the week their were more employees

    Hello,
After consulting with the manufacturer of auto-transformers, I add an L-Pad to finalize the settings.

    Crossover Changes

Stephane, would love to hear your comments of the evolution in sound improvement / changes... between your current version with its different components and first versions which you changed & moved away from...
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
The first version of the filter was advised by the LDA which store my advisor for this project.
The second version was the first test with theoretically more efficient components, capacitor paper, autotransformer, large self induction, resulting in an improved low-frequency area, but less good in the high frequency.
The third version brings improvements in the high frequency but a high level problem, his uptight.
The latest version fixes the problems high level, but requires a move up a notch setting the autotransformer.
In summary, between the original and the latest version, improving the overall transparency, enhanced with more material in the low frequency, high-level improvement in high frequency.
    Best regards.
    Stéphane

    Transformer Attenuator

What would you think of substituting a Fostex R100T instead?...I checked out the ebay store link but it does not look set up to sell internationally to the USA? They seem to be approx the same price excepting the 1dB rotary dial on the Fostex...I don't know if the more generally availible 70volt or 25volt transformer attenuators would be applicable here or if they have the sound quality needed. I wonder what Shindo uses on his HF field coil drivers?...
    Thanks Jon

Yes, it is possible to use as the Fostex R100T transformer.
Very little information on Shindo online.
    Best regards

I see they are made in the UK...... does that mean they they were actually made by Vitavox, or did WE actually have a factory over there?

How will you mount them? They don't have holes, like the Mantaray, and I would drill any in such a vintage horn, personally.

    Hello,
Listening is the first promise, I expect the assembly to say.
The assembly that will not drill the vintage horn.
