    Smile JBL 4333A, upgrading 2231A to 2234H

Hello all, just wandering what you guys have to say about upgrading my 4333's with 2234H vs. the 2231A ?

    Any taker ?

    Better ? Worst ?

You might learn from searching the archives as these drivers have been discussed extensively.
A short answer might be that the 2234H might have a touch more punch, but because it has no mass ring, it won't go quite as low as the 2231. If you want the fullest sound, stay with the stock bass drivers, specifically the 2231, 2231H or even the 2235H.

    2234H with mass ring ?

Can a 2234H be reconed with a mass ring to become a true 2235H ? I know they use the same recone kit and pretty much are the same basket than the 2235H.

    Yes

The 2234H basket and the 35 are identical. With the mass ring installed it will be a true 2235H.
