    JBL Kitty

Friday morning, my son comes up stairs and speaks quietly to his sister. She quickly follows him downstairs. A few minuets later, he comes back up and says: "Dad, one of the kittens is stuck in your speaker"

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this.

The hole on an early L100 is pretty small.

Thanks for the laughs! Best post I've read in several weeks! I think Giskard may have found a new avatar...with permission of course.

    - kitty is feeling better now, I presume?

    Exclamation Proper protective equipment

for safety on the job, especially when using power tools.

That was really cute. I can just see the scenario with the kids .

Was the cabinet already destined for the trash, or was it a good one?

Tell me, was the kitten freaking out during the "rescue operations", or was it too tired or restrained to do anything?

    Higher resolution

Please let us have some more pictures in a higher resolution -- it's all harmless fun as long as the kitten didn't get hurt.

Yes, she was freaking out, but she was tired also. The box was on it's side when she got stuck. We had to lay the box back to get her out. She was screaming, and momma cat was throwing a fit; walking around us all the while.

A big shot of the cat in a box:

When I came out, the kids had already worked out the problem. They tried to hold her ears back and push her head down, but she screamed bloody murder, and so did momma cat. We discussed it a bit, and they showed me their plan of putting her head in a slightly smaller paper tube and pushing it down. What do you think; would it have worked?

When my daughter came out with the camera, we were already half way into it. We had taken the midrange tube out of the way, so the kids could hold her up. Her feet barely touched the back. I held my hand under, so the bit didn't break through and hit her. Those are brand new claws, and very sharp: she got me good a few times. Every time I'd stick my hand under, she'd try and climb up my hand to get out.

    Good!

Kitty survived -with at least 8 lives left, huh?

Smart kids. Sounds like it would've worked.

But, what about the speaker cabinet- good one gone bad in the name of saving the kitten???

That's one reason for putting fly wire over 4 inch ports if you have a pet cat . Imagine the cat crawling inside, not being able to get out then peeíng and crapping in there..probably rot the surrounds. .

I suppose, if the kitty was caught in the mechanism, and I had to pull the lever, to launch the missile, to save mankind, and the countdown had begun: 10 - 9 - 8 - ; that I'd turn around and say: "Son, sometimes you got to sacrifice the kitty". But that isn't the case here. A picture is just an image of a moment in time. The real story, is a James Michener novel. It's about a boy, and a girl, love and death, fear and hope - tears and laughter. I'll not write the whole thing out, but turn to the end: A little girl runs across the room, stops, and with a big smile and wide eyes, says: "Grandpa; tell me again; how your daddy saved the kitty"

I'm just having fun with that. The cabs were headed for the junk pile; not good enough for the front room, and not worth my time to restore. Had it been my prize speakers, I'd still vote for the kitten. I'd certainly weight it out differently though, try another approach and not be so reckless.
