    2397

For me the 2397 is one of the most natural sounding horns there is. 2397s appear on e-bay farily regularly and go for $200.00-$500.00 depending on condition. There a couple of people I know make the hardwood version along with the Westlake versions, but they are not cheap ususally upwards to $1300.00. I might suggest if you are going to use a smith type horn that you find some original aluminum diaphrams for your 2441s as the titaniums to me are a little on the harsh side. Also, what type of system do you intend to use the horns on?

    Ick!

Zilch, those are the antithesis of the natural sounding Smith horns.

Mr. Freearms, if you do some searching on 2397 and "Smith" or "Wooden Horns" etc. you will find a ton of commentary on them. There are also some nice wooden radial horns from Japan and the tractrix salad bowls from Dr. Edgar and others.

There are a couple of 2397's on ebay but the auctions are split as are the 2328 adapters. You would have to be successful @ all four auctions and then have the ugly shipping costs from the UK.
Jammin Jersey is showing some on their list for $600/pair which includes the adapters. They always seem high on their prices, but I was pleased with my purchase. http://www.jamminjersey.com/speakers.php?prod=jblcomp

    Wow, Those are beautiful John.

You wouldn't happen have any extras for a pair of 288's or 291's?

Nope. The drivers in the pictures are a 2440 and 2445j. The throat adapters on the 2445s are the mystery adapters from this thread:

I cut off the outside flanges and painted them crinkle black.
