    2251J vs 2251J-1?

Does anyone know if the 2251J and the 2251J-1 are the same driver? They are both 10" midranges. If there is a difference, then what is it? Thanks!

    Hello Steve,

I recall from this forum that the 2251j-1 adds aquaplas and a mass ring, maybe 10 grams for the aquaplas and 10 more for the mass ring.

    Best Regards,
    Tom

Thanks, Tom. I understand that there is also a 2251J-2, which I was told has the aquaplas. Maybe there really is only a -1 and a -2, and no plain 2251J designation? Or are there 3 drivers?

From JBL's Synthesis Hercules system description. The SK2100DG:

Dual 10-inch 2251J-2 Aquaplas™-coated, pulp-cone woofers with 4" edge-wound voice coils and EPDM rubber surrounds, and utilizing Alnico magnets.
