Hello cary
Nice speakers! Ok I figure you checked the screws how about the voice coil leads? Sometimes if they are dressd wrong they can hit the cone and buzz. What happens when you do a sine sweep?? I had an L20t3 that had a section of the vernier seperate. That could do it too.

I would try swapping woofers first. If the buzz moves to the other cabinet, you know it is that driver. If it doesn't move, swap the tweeters. After you have narrowed it down you can better tackle trying to isolate the problem.
Maybe its a broken shild in a signal cabel...
16 Hz can not be substituted
Hey, cary...
Can you determine if the buzz is frequency specific? That is, if you are playing only strings, is it gone?
And, is it mechanical? By that I mean, it could be something non-trasnducer related within the cabinet that is loose/vibrating against the baffle, etc.
I had a troubling buzz I traced to the compression driver mounting bracket that had a screw worked loose (no wonder, being within ground-zero of a 2245H... ). All it required was a tightening of the mounting screw(s) to remedy.
Seperately, are the surrounds in good shape - still very compliant? "Original", in the case of surrounds, is not necessarily good...
