What is a good size room for these? I am limited to 8' ceilings in the basement, but could build a room to pretty much any dimension, 12x20, 20x20, etc.

Just don't make it square. Go with Fibonacci ratio. You will need to look this up , math on the menu!!

Small rooms can be used but there will be lots of room modes or peaks and dips in the bass.

An ideal room would have no less than 1 1/2 metres from the speakers to any side walls and say 3 metres apart so look at 6 metres wide.

Then allow the same behind the speakers and 3 metres behind the listening position so look at 9 or 10 metres in length. This is just a guide line. Avoid excessively long rooms or rooms with hard walls like brick or glass.

The in room response is flat to 30 hertz at full power and with the linearity of the 2245 woofer it will sound effortless.

I would not loose sleep on this as you are going to have a lot of fun just getting them going.

When you get them going plan on having the next day off work as you will be up all night listening and posting what is happening!

I have an all original set that i am biamping. I was thinking about building a set of crossovers or upgrading the set I have. I also am using a processor, Electro-voice DX38, for the biamp. What do you guys think about a crossover mod?

    .

I can't give any advice on the crossover mod, I know guys really seem to like the charge coupled crossover - it's not a simple build from what I can tell - but your system looks very nice. Thanks for sharing.

    Fenki, Matt -

Funny timing, I just got a Bonobo CD in the mail today, Days to Come. I've only heard one song before, Transmission 94, but snagged the whole CD anyway.

You'll find these links very helpful if you haven't already found them:

My 4345 clones in Kenrick boxes use this charge-coupled crossover design. Mine have never used anything else so I can't compare them to the originals but I'll take Greg Timbers' word on it!
". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers

totally agree. i think to change the caps and maybe make a new CC (charged) will be a step forward. biamping will be a "must" and triamping (like G. Timbers) will be the best thing. i will try it out in the future...
