    Parts source for SA600/660

Is there a parts source for capacators and perhaps output transistors for the JBL SA 600/660 amplifiers?

Its been a long time ago....

but I seem to remember the SA600 I had used 2N3055 output devices. Its been almost 35 years since I had one of them, BTW. I do remember it sounding far better than the Citation V amp I had at the time but that might have been due to the various drugs in in those days, which will account for the memory loss.

As for the capacitors, the biggest problem may be finding some of the appropriate size to fit the clamps. They're generally smaller today. It seems to me that the power amp used in these were the same "energizer" amps that could be installed inside some of the JBL cabinets to make a powered speaker, too, which is what I probably had (oh, that memory). In any case, I suspect there was more than one version so I'd suggest you lay hands on the right schematic.

Hope that helps. BTW, what's the problem with it?

    Cheers,

    David
