Well guys, I need some help.
Years ago, I heard a pair of 4435 in a small bar. It was love at first sight.
I have been looking for a pair of these ever since. One that I could fit into the budget, been married and all. You know what I mean.
A month ago, I found a set. They are complete, except for the woofers. They are all missing. I am now restoring them. And I need help.
The boxes are solid but rough. They have some major scratches and gouges in the finish.
They will soon get a paint job and new veneer. I don’t think that I want to restore them to the original look. I think, I will use a maple veneer on them. But there are a few things that I need.
Here are my questions.
I need 4 LF drivers. I believe the drivers were 2234h.
These are hard to find. What should I use as a substitute if I can’t find any of these.
Also, what was the original paint. It seams to me the it was a semi gloss black. Is this true.
And where could I locate some of the original bleu cloth for the grills. There is a lot of black showing on the front of these and a black cloth may be to much.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated
