Hello everyone!

Hello Ian!
Firstly, Ian's contacting me prior to his visiting Japan was a pleasant surprise, and afforded me a great opportunity to meet a fellow forum member from another...
Subwoof, thanks for your input!
I confirmed the sensitivity change feature on the downloadable manual at Crown's website, so I may try it as a last resort, granted that my 150A II has that option...
Thanks again, BMWCCA. Your analysis makes a lot of sense.
Yeah, I guess I'll try looking for the XLR->RCA cable. If I remember right, there was a store carrying that item.
Hey, I'm definitely not...
Thanks for the insight, member BMWCCa!
I think I understand what you're saying, but excuse me if I'm wrong here. The Mac pre-amp's specs state the following:
Rated Output Voltage:
2.5Vrms...
Hi everyone,
I just purchased an used Crown D-150A Series II amp to drive a pair of 4313.
Question: Is it normal for the volume knobs on the D-150 to be turned all the way to the right,...
I just want to add that a lot of Japanese audio specialty stores offer consumer credit loans to would be buyers of high-end gear, too. I heard the other day that an elderly wife of a doctor who'd...
Thanks. Glad to hear it! In other words, don't fix what ain't broke, right?
I suppose the consumers in this country are more finicky than others with regards to the condition of their audio gear,...
Hello All,
I've finally, and luckily, managed to trade up(?) my power amp from a Pass X-150 to a Levinson No.23.5. As you may know, the Pass is still in the current catalog, but the No. 23.5 is a...
If you people in the States would like to sample some Japanese high quality jazz recordings, you might want to try http://www.eastwindimport.com/
But beware, they're pricey by US standards....
There are so many I can recommend, but for starters here are 3 of my favorites:
1) Arthur Rubinstein / The Chopin Collection (box set) / BMG Classics
The definitive Chopin collection.
2)...
It can't get any simpler than this! Piano and bass. Wonderful improv by the two masters. Great recording, too.
Wow! Congratulations! The Autographs trade for anywhere from $7000 to $10,000 here in Japan from used audio shops. It'd be interesting to hear your story on how you got it for free. Tell us about its...
Thank you all for your replies!
I'll get a 100V->120V transformer to run the amp when I get it.
Steve K
Thanks, Tim, for your fast reply.
Okay, I'm thinking of an JBL UREI 6260. Does it have this detector?

Hello,
I'm in Tokyo, where the mains power specs are 100volts at 50Hz. If I bought an used power amp from the US (120volts at 60Hz), other than needing a voltage UP transformer (100v to 120v),...
I use Watco's Natural (clear) oil on my walnut veneers.
Hi all,
Just got Nilsson's Nilsson Schmilsson and A Touch of Schmilsson, both re-mastered re-issues. Used to own both LPs back in the 70's, you know with those timeless classics, like Without You...
Thought this video might be interesting.

Thanks for the heads up, rs237. You learn something new all the time here, don't you?
Hello,
I just scored a nice pair of 4312ABKs. There are no visible damages cosmetically - the corners and edges are intact, there are no scratches to the black paint, the tweeters' metallic netted...
I love headphones, too. I still own, I think 2 pairs right now. A Grado SR-80 and a AKG set. I say 'think' and can't remember the AKG's model name because they've been in storage for a few years...
I think I know what the problem was. My ears.
I read the technical paper posted by mech986, which I totally missed somehow on my first perusal. This is what it says in the very last paragraph:...
Thanks for the quick response, grumpy.
But I just had to find out for myself by listening for any difference in the sound with reverse connection between the crossover and the 077. So I unscrewed...
