Is there no foam whatsoever on your tweeters ? Because I see some present on your pictures ?
There are (at least) two types of appearances of the LE25 family, the one
one you have with a kind of...
Hello Steve, please allow me, the inventor of Bakelite is Leo Baekeland (1863-1944), (he was an American of Belgian origin).
JBL for beginners :)
Lesson 1 : inversed polarity
Lesson 2 : bypass caps
Lesson 3 : cabinet restauration (Hi Audiobeer !)
Here are a few screensnaps from my humble music database (under construction)
-the first is a table view of the media items (currently old cassettes)
I could have even included pictures of the...
Contrarily to what many forum members think the data entry does NOT have to be a nightmare, data can be imported from (Word), Excel, and others "quite easily" . I volunteer to help with this, and...
Earlier in the thread, patient members have tried in vain to explain
what LH is about, and how it works, but he sticks to his bad habits.
Time to close the thread ?
Many thanks Don !
Strange, the specs are listed in a part of the brochure but not in the pricelist.
Strange too that JBL recycles the model number of such a legendary speaker.
I saw these on a local market place where they are stated as an L100.
I searched this and other sites and found no picture or positive...
Hello Filligran,
I remember from reading the auction description that the cones were treated with some kind of liquid product. "to make them sound even better".
If that is correct, that is another...
A quick lookup shows that the "decoflex" veneer manufacturer is Belgian,
it can be found here : http://www.decospan.com
if I look at your avatar, are left and right not reversed ?
Before, A second-hand Harman Kardon HK6300 , now a second-hand Yamaha RX-V396RDS. It is not an expensive piece, but it sounds very good to my ears. For the moment I use it in stereo, or 2.1 mode. :)
Hello Jim, probably the place with the highest taxes is Belgium, the total percentage of direct and indirect taxes is about 60% of the income for average salaries. We get a lot in return for that,...

I stumbled upon an (ended) listing on Ebay, 5827823430, look what this guy has to say, it is peptalk for its sale or is it correct ? I have a somewhat similar experience : lots of bass (but almost...
If you do not have JBL's, you have to improvise.:D
It is only the picture. The woofer is fine it does not give any problem itself ; it works 100% fine. It's the mids that do not come through in an A/B comparison. (I found another thread that talks...
It was done by a technician
here in Belgium, I im not sure that it is really out of spec. The quality of the reconing job itself is magnificent. In the picture it seems irregular in thickness, but...
I am not shure the cones of this LE5 are pushed in ; some (older) versions
like the LE5-2 come standard with a "reversed dome" there is a nice list of all the variations of the LE-5 on this nice...
I have never paid attention to it but in fact my speakers smell very "chemical"
do other owners of L36 have the same , or is this condenser leaking ?
I would open them up , but I am not shure if...
Hello LGVenable, concerning replacing the LE25 with Ti's :
the JBL tech sheet for the L36 says : "use only as a last resort"
and "replace both units in a stereo pair"
I have a pair of L36 with 125A woofers which have been refoamed
with a surround that is too generous ; as a result the roll is protruding more
than the standard one. 9mm or 1/3" "above" the cone...
I think a JBL Control One speaker was used in the film "Clear and present danger"
in one of the control centers. The scene where the abandoned soldiers call for help on the radio is picked up.
There is a very reputed factory in the Netherlands that modifies
