Well that's an oldie! L100's for less that 273 if I remember right and Dynaco before the ST-400 and the EQ. I built both of those kits!

Hmmmm?? Look at the shape of the legs?? Make up your own mind.

Hello Rusty
It's a weird shaped room with a large walk in closet filling one corner. One speaker is close but better the other has no wall close. There is no way to get symmetry with placement...
I don't think you need DSP just use the original passive compensation in bi-amp mode. Look at the polars!

Cone material is one thing. Dual differential drive, low TCR voice coils to combat power compression, better adhesives, higher power handling and lower distortion, greater X-max is a potent...
I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. Those 2216's are quite capable. The 2234's may win an SPL contest but I doubt they will sound better in the upper part of the range.

Hello Widget
Yes it was literally staring me right in the face. The key was a simple phase test. I had been running my Heil's in the room that way and just dropped these right into basically the...
It's a 2 1/2 way so both woofers share the same range from say 200hz and lower. The 4435 is a single shared box just like Everest. You really don't need 2 2216's unless it's a huge space.

The drivers have improved so that makes a difference. It would be fun to compare.

I was doing some comparisons with with my basement system and these and I just couldn't match the sense of space I was getting from the PTH1010/2453SL and these speakers. After thinking about it...
I agree but it looks odd. Where is the black wire connected?? Almost looks like a jumper has been cut out. What are the "green" things? Wonder what the back looks like?
Rob:)
Wow those are really old! Nice speakers!
Rob:)
Look at the data sheet. Response drops like a stone from 10K
Rob :)
That the there is a throat mismatch to the horn. They use mylar like the 2435/2431 435Be 435Al
Rob:)
I don't see the worry. What media are you using?? If it's CD anything above 20K is a moot point!

When I built my Be Arrays I used the 045Be and it was in the upper 90's as far as sensitivity. I had to pad it down to meet the LE-14H-3 so it is definitely not 87Db. That documents seems a bit...
You should be able to just swap the caps.

12db slopes with level attenuation.

Hello Greg
This is a 6 year old thread surprised you are responding to it now as you just brought this back into the frey. Glad you are doing well through this nightmare.
Here are a couple of...
The E-145's are 98Db 1 meter. I use them in my HT mains.

I think either a K or E145 would be the closest function wise.

Rick Cobb yes I would too!

Those are the front mounted gaskets but drivers are rarely mounted that way. Used to be cork back in the day. You should be able to get replacements for a 12" driver but they probably won't match...
Here we go again. Take a simple 2 way and spring for the extra caps. Have a listen and decide for yourself.
