We've owned a couple pairs of older magnepans - My wife says its like swimming in music.

They can be power hungry to get the most out of them - Bryston amps are a good match.

I know he's been the go-to guy for the foam surrounds a lot of us...

Have not tried them myself - we get plenty of usable bass with the B460 playing as a sub, with 4 UREI 809As.
