Mr. Widget
I take it that when the test were done, the diaphragms were fairly new genuine JBL diaphragms.
Is there instruction somewhere, on how to do the test ?
I have fourteen 4612OK's and...
Earl K,
Thank You for the information.
The graph that you posted, is that what the microphone picked up of the 2404H and 2404h-1 ?
Is there a procedure that I can follow to perform that test?
...
What type of test equipment do I need to perform a frequency sweep.
Is there some type of computer software and microphone that will visually plot a graph of the tweeter's frequencies?
Hello.
I have a pair of JBL 4612OKs.
They took a pretty good shot of high volume amplifier wattage for brief second.
After the sudden burst, the 2404H-1 Ultra-High Frequency Transducers sound a...
If my memory serves me correctly.
They made two kinds of tweeters.
2404H uses the 2405 diaphragm.
2404H-1 uses the 2402 diaphragm for lower crossover-point usage.
I'm not sure of the differences...
I'll probably not use 500's tweeter and just use the woofer.
Ideally would be a stereo 50-100 watt per/ch subwoofer plate amp.
With a variable 60hz-150hz crossover 12db or 18db slope. ...
Wagner, Here is a EV schematic to build the EQ box.
The easiest way would be to find a EV interface A,B,C EQ box and change the four resistors as noted in schematic.
The EV interface A,B,C EQ boxes...
Q1. At the moment I just have a old 35 watt per channel Technics receiver that was running the 4612OK's.
Q2. By themselves they do sound pretty good, but lack the clarity that the 4612OK's have....
Top Speaker,
JBL 4612OK
Bottom Speaker,
EV Sentry 500
My thinking was to use just the Sentry 500 12" inch woofer as low end fill and not use it's tweeter.
The Sentry 500 can be used in step...
What is the dc resistance of a JBL4602A & the difference between the 4602A & 4602B ?
Thanks,
How many different models of the Bullet type tweeter did JBL produce?
I know of the:
075
2402
2402H
Is there also a 2402A?
What do you mean oxides on the top-plate?
Does AF stand for...
According to this 2402H Technical manual under System Components
DC resistance is suppose to be 6.25 ohm + or - plus or minus 8%
So I would say they both are not genuine JBL diaphragms.
What...
Is this a uniform practice for genuine JBL diaphragms?
No, I did not hear them.
I also noticed deformation.
One other thing that is in question, they read 8.0 and 8.2 ohms.
Is this a normal ohms reading for 2402 diaphragms ?
.
.
Are they made by JBL or are they aftermarket diaphragms?
Thanks,

For some reason I get Mr. Wizard confused with Mr. Whoopee and his amazing Three-Dimensional Blackboard :bouncy:
Mr. Whoopee would go in his closet to find the Three-Dimensional Blackboard,
he...
Hello,
I have two of the same EV 15" drivers/woofers.
One woofer has a chipped magnet.
Will the chipped magnet effect the performance of the woofer?
Chipped magnet woofer reads 6.9 ohms...
I stand corrected. Also it is easier to see mids and woofers move when checking polarity. Do not use a battery to check polarity on a tweeter/compression driver. . Mr Wizard
Connect a wire to each speaker terminal.
Touch one wire to the negative side of the 1.5 volt battery terminal and hold it in place.
Touch the other wire to the positive side of 1.5 volt battery...
Hello, According to the JBL 4612 OK spec sheet one of the two 2118J 8" woofers is restricted to the low-frequency region only ? What is the low-frequency region of the one woofer ? The 1st 2118J...
What is the difference between the JBL "2404H-1" and the JBL 2404H, Ultra-High Frequency Transducers ?
The JBL "2404H-1" with the Bi-Radial 62361 Horn is in the JBL 4612OK Loudspeaker.
JBL says...
