Is that a electronic bi-amp or passive crossover?

I have a pair of Altec N501-8A passive crossovers if you need passive.

Send pics if you can so we can see it.

    Reviving old thread

I've been busy with several friends with medical issues. But I'm looking at trying JBL 2206/2447 on 2332 horn using modified 4pi x-over(Wayne Parham pi forum).

I'm still trying to get my house...

    Jbl rip

JBL has been gone for years in my mind. I'm glad I have some of the older JBL drivers from the better days of old!

Still interested in2206 cabs if still available.

I've been busy with friends who have medical issues but not forgotten 1501Fe/2206J/2447 on 2332 horn system. I hope to get back to audio again soon, I miss it!

Sounds like a polarity issue if bosomy bass and screechy midst and highs!

    Low wattage tube amps

I only use single ended tube amps for my horns. Currently I'm using EL34 SEPentode with 200WPC sand amp for the the bottom.

Most single ended amps are pure class A and will loaf along in fractions...

  13. My design...

2206/2447 on 2332 horn passive x-over with 1501Fe's for sub duty with their own amp.

Horns are almost on the way to me today....

    Just a opinion...

    From a city-billy audiophile..

I found the 1501Fe to sound best for me in a 2 - way with 2445/Be/500hz Edgarhorn when crossed over @ 375hz 24db LR and the Horn @ 750Hz 18db oct BW and passive EQ...

The only calculator allowed in Math class in 1972!

I still have my slide rule calculator and remember how to use it, only problem is print is too small for me to see well even with Rx bi-focals!

    I agree

cabs worked okay with high efficiency drivers, but low freq drivers would push the cabs somewhat...

    They are neat cabs though...!

    Blonde cabs

I have a pair of the same cabs. I put EV SP12's in them and it was decent enough. I think I want to install 2206's in mine and see how it does.

I noticed you stuffed the port, why not seal it all...

    1501Fe bass shy?

I found the 1501Fe's to have plenty of LF energy!

I like to describe the 1501Fe's as a cross between the LE-14 and 2235.

Clarity of LE-14 bass with the authority of the 2235.

    my 2 cents worth

I think the 1501Fe/2206/Be horn/driver tri-amped would make one small but powerfull system.

Tube amps on MF/HF and 1501Fe's like high current sand amps only. x-over points of 120hz and 1200hz!
