I use my 18Ti as speakers for the TV in the back room. I knew I was happy with the way they performed, then a buddy came over and was blown away by how good the sound was (powered/processed with...
Micro member checking in. Wait, that doesn't sound right.
I recently lined some speakers with that 1" Wrap-On fiberglass. It's evidently NLA, but doesn't shed - I wore a short sleeve shirt when installing it and didn't even itch. Anyway, I read of...
One of the pluses of active as opposed to charge coupled (or passive in general) - I can sit in my easy chair with a laptop and make minute changes in delay, phase, etc. and hear the changes in...
Reminds me of something I posted a while back...
It wasn't, evidently, a Greg Timbers discovery but something passed onto him by Ed Meitner, who was not as far as I can tell, a JBL employee. It's entirely possible GT never measured the effect, just...
That they are both close to the same is a pretty good indication that they aren't too bad off. I can't say for certain how close JBL was able to hold to the 6.25 +/- 10% spec over the years, you'd...
DCR is listed as 6.25 +/- 10%, so down to 5.625 is in spec.
I'd say if the diaphragms are in good shape, should be fine.
No personal experience, but these have good customer reviews, I even recognize some names from here in the reviews. And I see on review from France, so it looks like they ship international.

Analysis Paralysis, don't let it derail your project.
The new Harman re-did the website and killed all the old reference links. I've found a couple after some digging, but most is gone since the Samsung transition.
You might try Wayback Machine on...
Screws from the inside was going to be my guess, but wasn't a definitive answer so I didn't weigh in. You should be able to probe around in there with a screwdriver or magnet and find the screw heads...
Not right off hand. I have the stuff to build the single woofer version, but those crossovers are also hard to nail down.
Maybe copy the TAD 2401 (? I think - I can never keep those systems straight) crossover, it was a pair of 15s and a horn.
If they weren't so hard to come by, it might be worth a shot. I'll not be trying it on mine :D
I'm pretty sure it was Giskard that used a 2206 with the 1400 Array top.
Ah, here ya go

In the vid above, Ken mentions that the foam is to contact the rear of the dome to damp the ringing of the titanium dome.
As to why JBL decided on that as opposed to putting a drop of something on...
I don't know if he re-glued or just used the bolts to hold it - I've seen posts where the glue was omitted.
He has quite a few vids on his Facebook. I don't have Facebook, but there's a link on...
Here's a vid of Edgewound putting new foams in some 044Ti tweeters, for reference

GordonW is in that area, no idea what his company is called.
Shows up in the 1964 catalog with tawny walnut, oiled walnut, mahogany, and ebony as the available finishes.

But legs aside,...
Any idea where the other one went?
I think JBL was pretty fond of 10-32, you might try a 10-32 and see if that's what you have.
Not a clue. I think I remember reading something about Kenrick using a black dye to freshen up old cones, not sure if anybody figured out what it was or how it was applied.
