I think it sounds noticeably better, but it could definitely be a case of "I swapped this interconnect and it's a night and day difference!"

The rephase settings above have format set to "32 bits floats mono (.txt)". I could be mistaken, but to get miniDSP to load it I think it needs to be changed to "32 bits IEEE-754 mono (.bin)"....

I noticed that every time I take a spatial average of my M2s in a room (6 positions, 1m square, ~3m measurement distance) I find a peak centered at around 8.1 kHz.

With method 2, I find cone excursion to be a minimum at about 27Hz. Air movement from ports was a maximum at around 22Hz. Excursion from the drivers went up a lot after 22Hz. I'll get some resistors...

While I agree that this would be the general procedure for capturing the full range amplitude response of a speaker, what you suggested is not the best way to characterize an individual woofer.
