Legs came from Alpha Furnishings thru Amazon. Similar to the originals...solid machined aluminum with a nice bright satin finish. Be aware the Alpha legs have a 5/16-18 stud in the center of each...
Here is a photo of my 50's mono tube system. Bogen R660 tuner, Bogen DB130 integrated amp and C36 loudspeaker
Thank you Horn Fanatic for a clear explanation of cabinet resonance and speaker cone movement. I'm certain 1950's engineers carefully calculated exactly how much if any "porting" would be optimal. I...
Yes it is...but the question remains....should the cover be removed thus venting or porting the cabinet, OR should it remain as it is in the photo, effectively sealing the cabinet air tight? Isn't...
inside of cabinet will three openings... 075 and D123 and factory cover
My C36 project came with the 075 driver and no lf driver, but included an adapter ring for the 12" D123 driver...which I installed. This left a third, covered hole in the baffle for a third driver. I...
Just some cleaning and re-stringing the dial cord and it powered up and pulled in am right away. Need adapter from f cable to rca for the fm antenna input...got real lucky on this find...
Went well...didn't look like others I've seen in photos. The old caps had were blocks of waxy paper with 2 wires in and 1 out. Just swapped them with the Audyn Q4 6.8 caps. Cleaned up the sound and...
Won auction on a Bogen r660 tuner that hasn't been gone through...hope I get lucky...seller powered it up without incident. I will post questions I am sure. Dangerous amateur I am...
My last step would be a new diaphragm in my 075 bullet if the new caps don't do what I hope. Pretty fun listening to mono discs that I've collected over the years. Vinyl is a great way to slow down...
Amp sounds great with the C36...lots of power...still hearing noise (distortion) in the vocals...most pronounced at lower volume level. Found a nice matching box to combine the stereo source material...
Thanks for the info speakerdave...poking around I discovered a db130 that is ready to go...all new caps and tubes...we shall see. Schematics and tubes are available apparently. Going mono will be...
Wondering what a C36 speaker with 075 D123 and N2400 divider would love as far as a mono tube amp. Would a 35 watt Bogen DB-130 work? Any opinions appreciated
Not reproductions...just nice solid machine turned legs 5.5" high with 5/16-18 threaded rod ends. Less than $10 each. Found online...extremely well made. I refuse to pay $200 for 8 ...Mono system...
Will register the drivers and crossover. Ordered cast aluminum legs..similar but not originals.7998579986
Only replacement component is the D123 ...dates a year or two later than the 1959 serial numbers on the 075 and N2400. Grill and badge are excellent...veneer is rough..waxed and cleaned. Sounds...
First post here....found a C36 speaker at a flea market about 15 years ago....missing the woofer. Had the 075 bullet (serial 20927) and N2400 crossover (serial 13415) perfect grill and brass...
