Blowing them up!
I'm beginning to envision a Caddyshack moment with total carnage.
These are not computer monitor speakers but somewhat vintage weatherproofed speakers. Serial numbers 02876 and 02888. Black plastic speaker case. Made in the USA.
I have a pair of these speakers and quite honestly, they sound awful. How do I removed the front grill to get access to the speakers? Is it a press fit or some hidden screws?
I finally heard back from GPA today with their T/S measurements.

You are so right. I removed the 811B horns and do indeed have the stock 802-8G drivers. Should I send them back to GPA for restoration?
I have an Altec model 19 with 811B horns. Removing the horn to inspect the driver has me puzzled about what transducer I have. It is labeled with model number that I don't recognize.

I appreciate your help and look forward to hearing back from you.
Trading in the wife for a new model not possible, she is too nice to me. The cost of changing would be way more than buying a boat load of speakers! LOL.
Yes, I had seen these pictures of Wardsweb...
I have a pair of model 19's and want to build new cabinets that are narrower than the 19's, just basically trying to update a very 70's style to a more vertical type. I will be using the Altec 416-8B...
