Hello Toddalin
The point isn't to listen there? You get a good look at the integration of the mid and tweeter on the design axis.
When you measure at the sweet spot you typically are off the...
I purchased a new car and lost all connectivity to my I-pods! I was not happy although I did have the option to use USB sticks that had to be formatted as FAT32. It could not read any other format. ...
Hello Toddalin
In my mind smoothest frequency response. I don't worry about time alignment. None of my systems I own or ever have owned have been TA with the exception of My 811C clone I used as a...
Hello Toddalin
What you are doing is making sure the drivers sum properly through the crossover. I used to do the same thing when I had my RTA. It finally gave up the ghost last year.
An RTA is...
Out of curiosity how many of you use portable players or your phone?
I have been using an I-Pod you years. Take it everywhere and enjoy having my music with me.
What type of headphones? In...
Hello Toddalin
Before you start messing with your set-up you might want to check out Greg's comments about time alignment in the 1400 Array and how it affects imaging.
Without having access to...
I can see your point. We are primarily a vintage site and most the questions except for preference of 4343, 4345, 4355 were more focused on what's available now.
WRT prep work I did a search for...
You know thinking about it. We are probably the worst to judge on JBL knowledge. How many years have we been here talkin about JBL lore?
Is there anything we haven't discussed to death?
Rob :)
Yeah and he didn't asked about them? Go figure? They are even the same shape as his current speakers? They did come up when they were discussing the effectiveness of radius's vs diffraction with 2"...
Hello Earl
Go to the first interview. 1:06 and keep going to 1:12. He has symmetrical 120 X 120! He shoots for 90-120 patterns. Plus the printing and vane description start at 1:04 in the second....
Bi-amping them is nice I built a Bi-amp Jubilee clone years ago. Used a DX-1 with custom cards I built using LEAP. I have to resurrect them at some point. I have a pair of 1400 subs with blown plate...
I was surprised about the horns as well. First the 120 degree dispersion and how the Array was basically a "stock" horn and he would have preferred a wider pattern over the 80 x 80. Also about how...
And the drop outs!

Yes Hofmanns Iron Law Any 2 not all 3

That's correct. Just to highlight the note about the E-130/E-140 using a higher flux density magnet structure at the bottom of the table. Not that you would use those kit's. Check with your local...

Here you go, 2235 is a go several others listed

You have a well engineered speaker. I would leave it be the chances of you improving it are limited at best. Don't fix what's not broken.
Rob :)
They may ship?

The proposed sub for the original Everest was 2245 based.

When you start experimenting remember JBL uses a flipped polarity on the woofers and if you look at the schematic you can see the polarity for proper hook up posted there for the standard network.

If you have an RTA and a Pink Noise source you have a good start. The only difference in the drivers is the Jubilee uses 050 Gold vs 035Ti. The rest are the same.

Hello
This should help you. The slopes are "wrong" but with the 31 band EQ you should be able to get something usable. Do you have an RTA to use to set the EQ?
This explains the Jubilee...
You really think you need one or are you just doing a 4435 "upgrade"?
Rob :)
Hello Widget
I have a spare pair if that helps
