No matter what the curve is.. a std Eq and Sound Meter
are looming in the wings..
I'm using Peavey Rack Mt Classic 60/60 and 120/120 Stereo tube Amps..
Their Quiet enough for me..cheap ..Rugged.. well fused and easy to fix...
and sound Tube Good....
This thread had me revisit my speaker holes...blocking old tweeter holes
and filling in to original port area's ..and I gotta tell ya....
It made for some really clean new sound...
...thanks...
I agree..I have some TR 225's JBL towers w/that grade of sp. But...
they put out big sound all night long w/PA use....FK
Samson 3/4 way x-over, QSE bass amps, Peavey tubes for mid/high stuff
Might be an ultra sonic device for shake down or cleaning
I don't know what kind of calibration your talking about...my system was crude ..
the 3 way elect, x-over seamed to have the mid/high freqs trying to dominate ea other..
and it was noisy and req'd...
I've already been though all this horn alignment business ...
and your better off w/2 way system and some serious eq..FK
Playback/portable (PA) should not be confused ..the latter is designed for flat OUT high power/vol.
and sounds good doing it....example.....I used JBL TR225 towers for rear playback (home stereo)...
Tri-amp exp. w/any sp. is a fun/powerful but daunting experience ...in the end you'll be glad
to get back a mono system ,...so you can return to sanity...
The only James B. Lansing sp. I have is
the one he saw ..in his living years...the A7
Correct me if I'm wrong ..but, does one get better results, if the input
side of a tube bass is over driven...
They fit good in space avail....like NY you can always go up...
As for Tubes I, too, use a solid amp for sub...its cleaner...in a world of low lows..
Do you have the Vandersteens that look like the Twin Trade Towers....
The Transistor had its orig. in-line/phone/ amps to cut down field main.
How they got into hi-fi is the same old story as other compromises
(like head phones) People buy "new" market...
An article, by Ohm, "absolute phase" or something like that ...already knows about the "voice thing.....
Wing Paneling Entire wall ..means I now have 2 (120' sq) walls (wg/pnls) facing ea other..
(like an inner room ...designed for a sound.. )
w/surface mt. A7's in ea side firing back and forth to...
I know what he's saying...He's using his headphones as ref. monitors
and comparing to his room sp.
I know what your speaking of w/the complex model 19 x/o ...
Its for tuning a flat baffle sp. to a horn sp.
The A7 does not have that issue...
those conical sp. sound ok 'till the vocals start
then everything gets vary weird:blink:
Woodstock w/Joe's opening act.... "With a little help from me Friends"
set the Woodstock stage for the beautiful show .that it was:spin:
I can tell you what's... not... "musical"
Some sp. are not plug-and-play fresh out the box
They need Eq'g and unfortunately most don't bother...
As for "big" ...the bigger the baffle the...
The only disagreeing I've noted is between He and She:)
Speaking of Orchestra's ..Did you know that Phil Spectors' "Wall of Sound"... put ea musician in a cubical
w/their own mic and added reverb to the final mix....
