So, found some tubes I needed from my box and the box of a friends and then put the kt66s from my fender twin into the mc240 and we are cooking with tubes! The clean up is ongoing but we ran it for...
Literally just picked up an MC240 and an MX110 tuner/preamp from a guy cleaning out a house. They are in about the shape your 240 was in. Nice idea to paint the chassis.
Paid $300 USD for them an...
I use two for the mains.
I wired the woofers out of phase with the the mids and hf drivers. They sound better. They are not wired per the specs as far as I can tell.
I was just looking at eds ebay stuff and he has a t4 for 99 usd. The sas I bought was more like 130.
I have a v15 t4 on my empire 598. I too like how it sounds. Im using an sas stylus but will look at your link.
I will try the sub in line with the speakers using the subs crossover at 125. I have seen conflicting wiring diagrams on the 4410A's. Mine are currently wired so that a positive voltage to the red...
Thanks for the responses.
I raised them to 18" off the floor which get the mids and HF drivers almost to ear level when seated. Huge improvement! Amazing what the last 4"'s did. I really like...
My repaired 4410A speakers are in production. I have them on 6" stands tilted up which allows me to get them pointed right at my main listening position. The soundstage center is about 3" off the...
That james taylor live cd is very good. Totally agree. Must steal it back from mydad.
Lots of good suggestions here for music I don't have yet. I really like live recordings for jazz and rock especially. The interplay and magic that can happen more than offsets whatever degrees of...
Indeed now when I put a dc positive charge to the red "System" terminal, the drivers all move out. Needed my kids to watch the mid and HF drivers because my eyes were not up the task.
Thanks again...
My first hi-fi was as pair of Lancer 33's, a Fisher 400c and a Philips 212 turntable. It sounded great. I was brain damaged one day in the mid 90's and traded the 400c. Still have the Lancer 33's....
Harald,
Many kind greetings from Santa Cruz. I am very impressed by your loudspeakers. Even though I had 4 years of german language studies in gymnasium, your message is still very difficult for...
ausgezeichnet, Harald!
I only need a few more components it looks like...easy peasy.:bouncy:
Thanks Don.
To anyone I ask for confirmation that this diagram indicates that if I apply positive DC voltage to the red terminal on the cabinet that all drivers should move out meaning that no...
I bought a few years ago two LE8 drivers with the original surrounds to use in some two way cabinets at my in-laws house. My father in law and brother in law built the cabs in the early 70's and the...
Thanks David, I did not switch the leads on the woofer because they sound so good.
Many thanks for the document. I guess I will switch the woofer connections and see what happens.
More info or clarification. Currently I have the solid green going to the red terminal on the 127H-1 woofer and the green/black is going to the black terminal.
Bought some 4410A's from a guy in town. Listened to them at his home just to make sure they worked and brought them home.
I connected them to the system and found a tweeter was not working. Took...
