Noice!
^ LaFayette selling the L100 for $199.88 instead of MSRP $297. Oh the horror!
Yes, something like that. I guess JBL hasn't noticed that average Joe who might be looking at a L100 type of speaker can't afford $3-4k, nor wants to spend it even if he/she can.
Someone at Harmin' has gone nuts (yet again). Make them somewhat affordable like the L100 was.
Just leave them playing all the time but lowered gain at night, etc. That's what I always do and it gets the break-in done faster.
Grats on the new speakers!
So many of my music heros going toes up in the past year or two has been a bummer for me. I remember when John Bonham died in 1980 and that was bad enough, then a scant three months later that...
We're all Che Guevara now. :die:
I think it varies with different drivers - materials, size, compliance, and so on - before a driver settles to its design specs. It's no great voodoo, just play them for a couple of weeks before...
Thanks for posting the news, Seawolf. I hadn't heard Becker had passed.
Maybe he'll get to meet Napoleon now. I'd like to be a fly on the wall to hear the questions he'd put to the Emperor. ;)

"I've got it, guys! Let's stick the JBL logo on anything you do in real life, and that's our ad campaign!"
If that's the new way of doing business at JBL Pro, then they deserve to lose customers. You should go elsewhere like E/V, perhaps they'd appreciate your business more.
The Forte and Chorus were made for loud & boomy. That was my take the last I heard them and never liked them. The 590s are a different animal than that.
"Uhh...lady...you know I'm a dog right? I don't make calls..."
"Great, now we're ready for Stupid Pet Tricks on Letterman."
"I thought you said this year I get Arrays?"
:dont-know: :D
"Take crystal clear calls from your speaker with a touch of a button - thanks to the noise and echo-free speakerphone." :p

The mainstream press were fairly daft back in those days, making a huge deal out of John's "we're more popular than Jesus" thing, and Rev. #9 like it was some kind of secret "devil music". But so...
It's great that he outlived the 56-year copyright expirations. Now another 5 years or so and he'll get many songs back.
...because once you've heard it, you don't ever want to find it again? :slink:
Well, Bose always does, so...
:lol_fit:
Well they look comfortable though.
Fitero - when the front baffle of a speaker is equal to or greater in sq. inch area than your TV screen, you know you're doing something right. :D That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

:rockon2:
At this point it's no surprise. Everything online, phone conversations, etc. are snooped and stored in a database now. Some Samsung TVs listen to the room through the mic even when the TV is turned...
Yep that's him AFAIK. Well then someone else may have to help, but I have to say Chris hung in there until replacements were found, also with continuous prodding from me.
Not an easy thing since...
Eh...subs, shlubs. If I still had the REL Stentor III I'd bring it in somewhere around the low 30s and the 590 would do the rest. But not really needed unless you're...a LowPhreak. ;) Quit reminding...
No, I've seen that review and the measurements I have are virtually the same so all good. The FR curve above I think was from a report out of Europe.
