At this video on YouTube there is a nice representation of large Altec speakers with cabinets which might have been custom built. Lots of old tube stuff too....
I just got the RCA Living Stereo 60 CD set. There is one RCA LS entitled "Audiophile Sampler" but LPs are the best but for basically listening I enjoy CDs.
I'm going to get the 60 CD set of RCA but I also remember the Mercury series and will check that out.:)
