I installed the same 50w L-pad from Parts Express as recommended
to my L222 and ran Carver amps (TFM-25 mono mode) with no issues what so ever :)

History, build and sound quality? If so why JBL has zero presence in US consumer market if other brand can excel in mid. and high-end...

The more I listen to the 886a the more I feel they are under appreciated.

Very efficient, no maintenance required (cloth surrounds), good mid-bass, no piercing HF nor low booms…but its own...

Current speaker condition:
All active & passive woofer surrounds replaced (maybe 5 yrs ago?)
Both Mids working properly...

Am powering them with 250wpc Carver TFM amp. I think the active and passive woofers does not sound as tight as they should (little muddy).
Plus giving its age, maybe the origonal cap. or crossover...
