Tad have had a real knack for making beautiful cabinets, truly ''years ahead of their time'' (IMO) - they came out 1980-82.

I'd maintain - that my limited knowledge of electronics... surely a change MUST be necessary to the crossover when you add more woofers.

Its my understanding that every added woofer...

If my understading is correct, using 2 x 15" p/ch would increase efficiency by approx 3db.

there ''must'' be a change needed in the crossover to change from 1 x 15 to 2 x 15...

I have some TAD TN-4 crossovers, which are made to run either 2 x 1601's, or 1 x 1601 bass unit. It's a 2 way crossover which comes advertised as switchable between these two...

I find it hard to put sound into words.

The 2397 with the Tad 4002 sounded... well you could hear the horn. Frequency range was restricted, but not only that, you could ''hear the woodwork'. I...

Less keen on the 'smith' horn for the TAD compression drivers.

yeah, my original thought was some VOTT cabs or 4560 type cabs, but the article saying the Tad 1601 isn't a good choice for this type of cab put me off.

I made my TAD copies a few years ago, and have been enjoying them since.

I've had them open a few times, and played with the wadding...

I think that 4560 cab could be ideal.... because....

1) I could load the smith horn / tad 4002 in the ''top slot'' (as per the person in the link you provided)

..I am guessing so -...

I like the look of those rear loaded horns :)

An easy build, too.

Wonder if anyone has had them back to back with front loaded horn-bins like the Altec 816?
