I use 308's Mk 2's in my office with a sub. I love them but not sure how they would do as surrounds. Depends on your max SPL and room size. Long term 102db 112db max.

I have both 2235's and Le-14H-3 in service. I prefer the Le-14's I have in my Array clones and Performance Series PS1400 subs. They sound more linear, have better clarity IMHO. The 2235's are in 4344...
Looking forward to see you complete them! I have been sitting on mine as well. One of these days

Click on manage attachments under the dialog box when you do a post and you should be able to just add it.

Place holder bringing them back on line again.
So I don't have to find the thread again!

Why are you using an SPL meter?? The exact levels don't matter just the relative between drivers. Just use your RTA with pink noise.

Welcome
Keep us posted on your project.

In all of these systems the base sensitivity is determined by the woofer with the mid and HF drivers padded down to match it. If you drop in another woofer with a different sensitivity or a rising or...
Not at all. You can't just drop them in and expect them to work without verifying the cabinet tuning as well as possible changes to the crossover network. Even dropping in a 2234 which is a 2235 less...
Hello
If I remember right he was bi-amping I don't see anything more that a compensation circuit so run it in an appropriate crossover sim to see what's going on and what the attenuation is.

Here is Greg's original filter for his original system using the 9800 horn and 435Be no UHF driver. This could help you as a starter.

Here is a measurement of a 2435 on a PTH1010 set point for the system was about 94dB and you can see the top octave roll off. It might be better on an Array Horn but you can see the roll of will...
Hello Frank
This is the build schematic. Not sure how this is going to help you as it is set-up with the 045Be. I think I have some schematics preliminary without the 045 but I would be concerned...
Hope there are no stairs involved!

Yeah I have had similar experiences the separate stand alone amps seem to do a better job!?
Not sure why?

Have a pair of 308P Mk 2 and like them as well. Where do you have yours? Mine are used in my office system with a subwoofer.

Hello Rusty
Well that is a conditional statement that depends on how the woofers are set-up. The Everest only uses the second woofer up to 150Hz so no issues. Now if you ran both woofers over...
Hello Heather
Have you ever tried a demo with them? I guess it's important what you want to use them for. I did for HT and it's not realistic at all in the sense that you get way too much...
It does and if you have any doubt listen to a 4311/L100 vs. 4410/L80t as examples. The 4311's are not mirror imaged and not aligned and the imaging suffers compared to the mirror imaged and vertical...
I am a little confused as well by your question as it gets a bit complicated. As Mike said no DSP will take a signal at the level even from a high output MM not getting into MC. For it to happen you...
When I did my 4344's JBL still was doing cone kits so I was able to new 2122's from the tent sale and cores and re cones for 2235's. Now I would never start down that road with no more kits.

Odd have to see which ones they were, that horn could be set-up for a 1" driver different throat. Any of the modern large format driver like the 2450SL, 2451/2452 should work just as well as the...
Why would you have to rescale the horn? All you are changing is the throat. You could just rescale the throat and leave the horn be as they are separate in the original design. You would also need to...
Hello Toddalin
That's why it's best to try on a simple 2 way system to see. When I built my CC L250 Jubilees and 1400 Be Arrays it got very costly compared to a standard network.
Rob:)
Yes
The 2" throats had a decades old flare rate. The new throatless design is actually supposed to reduce distortion. There is a Technote about it
