But the 2226 cone is not curved, it's a simple cone, my pair was new from factory in 1994, definitely not...

There's a new mid-driver from JBL, the 2164.
It is a 4" cone unit used in the VTX20 (smaller) Horn Loaded Line Arrays.

The paper lists the cone mass as identical to a 2226 but the Mms is 50g heavier, more than can be explained by the small increase...
