No all of the drivers have original cones and diaphragms. The speaker hobby (obsession) is already expensive enough. :)

I had the 075's on hand that I had removed from a pair of modified Lancer 77's that I picked up at an estate sale.
Slowly getting there.
Thanks
Yea, I have a butt load of clamps but not too many. I would have given a bigger view of my shop if it wasn't such a disaster. :)
Thanks Widget
I was planning on using some of my classic blue cloth just to be a rebel. :D
I missed the ole L 300's so I decided to try again. I just applied the first coat of oil the other day.
Beautiful work, especially the veneer. :applaud:
I have one of the 124A woofers on the shelf I received through a trade. It has been freshly reconed with the 2203 cone.
I wasn't able to locate a decent pair of LE 20-1's but I did find a nice pair of LE 20's. The larger flange required a bit of modification which I hated to do. The big surprise was when I removed the...
Great job! You have inspired me to do two things. #1 Clean up my shop. #2 Build something.
I used to pass through Placerville to get to my home in Somerset years ago.;)
Beautiful! I particularly like the fact that they require a lot less real estate than the original design. Great job. :applaud:
Very nicely done. :applaud:
Truth is I bought these because of the 075's. I have always liked there looks and sound. The grills were also modified and will need some fixing.
I just picked up a pair of lancer 77's at an estate sale. The cabinets are in excellent shape. The surrounds are in need of replacing as to be expected but the tweeters were replaced with 075's. A...
Thanks a bunch Earl, Barry, and Cooky for the heads up advice and details on the throat design for the array horn. I believe that I will focus my woodworking efforts instead on the design I have used...
Here is the jig system i used for some of my later A-290's.
Thanks for the complements.
I regretted selling my smaller horns and have decided to build another pair using either teak or Indonesian walnut that I have just purchased. My latest plan is to do an...
Thanks, I will give those a shot. I was able to successfully remove about 98% of the glue from the cone face.
I decided to go ahead and correct the refoaming job that was performed by a so-called Pro shop several years back on my 136A's. They installed the foam on the front of the cone. GRRRRR! :dont-know:I...
The port should be centered on the woofer. The inside measurement on mine is 4.1" x 5.0" in length.
I like the two way design that Cooky did a little while back with the verticle horn and truncated cabinet.
Beautiful work. Holz was the name given to me in my German language class back in high school. It was the closest the instructor could get to Woody.:D
You are correct, they are 3/16" x 1/2"x 1/2". Replacements can be found at the hardware store in the furniture protection section. It is on my list of things to do.:D
Here are the velcro attachment points. As you can see, some of the plastic bumpers have gone away.
Using the Bass Box program with a tuning of 29Hz the result is one port 3" x 4.48".
