The LE-8-101 is no doubt stamped on the cone. Most if not all of the 33's had unpainted
unmarked LE8's installed.
The LE8T came later. Basically the same driver.

Hello Greg...here is another pic of the factory stock internal bracing and support for the 2440 in
the 4350. Everything else in the design seems pretty much standard oh, and then there are the...
I have to agree with Doc Mark about choice of wood for enclosures. In mfg. guitars, hardwoods are utilized exclusively for their sonic properties. Maple, walnut, ash and mahogany are all "tone...

My pair was very smooth and easy to listen to but gobbled up watts so I'm wondering what's powering your setup.

I'm guessing the clamps are original and yes, they are sturdy....they'd need to be to support the weight of the 2440 if the unit was suspended upside down. I did have to remove each top port to get...
if this is the clamp your referring to you can simply make one or have a machine shop do it...bolting that beast (2440) in is definitely a two man job. :banghead: good luck!

Sweet!
I remember reading an article on a blindfold A/B comparison between a high-end Threshold and a B&K. The reviewer actually preferred the cheaper B&K...comparing it to a tube amp.
I am currently biamping my 4350A's top end with a B&K ST-140 and am very pleased with the results. These
"wallet-friendly" Mosfet designs are very smooth sounding and good alternative to an...
looks more like a D140 than a 136A.....take good care of those crossovers...hard to come by in any condition.
here's two more eBay offerings and both claim to be operating correctly
Thanks! it looks like the left xover (bottom pair) is also wired incorrectly
does anyone have a clue as to how various JBL xovers are configured? Particularly the four leads on top. Reading from left to right I've seen: green-black-black-red, black-green- red-black,...
that's like finding a '67 427 vette up on blocks in an old garage with zero miles on the odometer....

great find!
Nevertheless, watching water suspended by soundwaves is captivating.
Here's a cool experiment using standing waves to suspend water droplets. p.s. no affiliation to H.P.

Outstanding! :applaud:
I am currently involved in a similar project with a pair of 4350's and after some discussion and following numerous threads on this forum and other's, I've decided to keep...
beautiful piece. Just for grins, check the decals on the underside for serial number. Post a pic if you can.
Hello, I'd be curious as to how you determined it's build date. Mine, (278) dates to '59 also.
They're very efficient, so a low power tube amp is what I would expect to see.
