Hi retromick.
There is no problem using your Bryston amps with M2. Get a used BSS DSP unit and all JBL settings are available in the form of a downloadable macro or use the discrete DSP settings...
Here is a proper review done with a modern measuring rig, a Klippel.
By using the market accepted state-of-the-art measuring system (USD +200k) and meaningful standards (ANSI/CTA-2034-A R-2020)...
Just a small note.
The sensitivity of the 045's is way lower than most pro woofers and in the low 90's (87db 2,83V/1m, 4ohms, 15kHz). I ended up doing 3-way active as the difference between my...
Hi Christo,
A couple of thoughts.
Notwithstanding what Dallas Justice may add I have tried many DSP units over the years and always gravitate back to the BSS Soundweb units for standalone DSP...
Hi Ian,
I agree with you that DSP is still a niche area in high-end HiFi market but given that manufacturers can get away with making pretty bad speaker sounding decent and hence safe quite a...
Surely JBL must have done tests with using BSS DSP XO on all K2 speakers (including E2 :) ), and most likely also 4367, before they embarked on making passive ditto.
If not else just because the...
Hi all,
I know this is an old thread but did realized that I have not updated this for some time and some things have changed.
Thank you for all the nice and supportive comments.
The system...
Okey, this thread is officially open again. :-)
The first 4367 set was bought by my dear friend Björn but I have a second set inbound that was originally going to a friend that in the end left...
Hi,
I just wanted to update this thread as I learned that my friend had sold all the 076 except for two NIB that he intend to keep. Sorry for the confusion but I just found out.
Kind regards...
Inbox cleaned. Sorry.

Hi Mazza,
I did see the measurement and the scale make it seem like rather ok but in reality you are about 10-15 db down above 10k. Typical for a 2" driver with that phasing plug/exit. That is a...
I have a friend over here that has a bunch of original JBL 076 drivers if of interest.
Kind regards

Even if I totally agree with RMC on that speakers may be designed to meet different demands and that studio speakers may not always be the perfect choice for domestic use, I would suggest to take a...
The 2445 falls off pretty steeply after 10k as most 2" drivers. You can use the high sensitivity to compensate for most of that but from my experience the result may be less than stellar. 2-way...
Thank you for input. Thought I would give some update here.
I ended up changing the gain on the discrete input of the LSR12's. The "Direct" input was +4dbu for 96db / 1m which is about 15db lower...
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to get back on this as I have sold the 4367 Kit to a local JBL enthusiast who will continue the build and most likely this thread. His name is Bjorn.
I got some LSR6332...
Thank you for the input. Still not clear on how to get this working.
My aim is, exactly as Ian points out, to use both (all 4) woofer to increase output capability while keeping distortion low....
Thank you for good input.
I did check my subs and they are LSR12P not LSR6312SP. They have been idle a while, sorry
Mr. Widget
4 subs mid-wall is of course a better solution. This room is...
Hi,
I was originally thinking of building a set of 4367 after selling the M2's due to size limitations. I then stumbled on some passive LSR6332 monitors which are smaller in size and I really like...
Hi everyone,
Yes Ivica, they look the same but they are not. I have really sold all my vintage and other "high end" horn/waveguides and only use these or the M2 (and soon the 4367). If you can...
You can mount both the large (2451) and small (2450Sl aso) bolt patterns on the newer waveguides. I designed an adapter for the big bolt circle a few years ago and posted the drawing here. Do a...
Hi Rob,
The newer VTX WG has a better high end and better horn load in the low segment. I think I have posted a comp earlier. -Will see if I can find the comp file.
Can it be fixed with DSP?...
Hi ivica,
I will try to measure with both D2 and 2451SL/Be.
Kind regards
//Rob
I agee with much of the above. Personally I prefer the 4” drivers over D2.
A few comments.
Get 2451SL or 2452SL. 2453 does not work on these WG’s without a spacer. The first two are better...
