That is quite a story!
Rustoleum universal Satin Black spray paint is a very good match.
Bummer, I need some grills for my XPL200's but they are as rare as the stands. I may have some made. I would do it but I can't cut 2 boards the same length.
So, I was thinking about selling my 90's L series that have been sitting idle for 6 or 7 years. I bring the L7's into the living room and pull the wires from my XPL200's and hook them up to the L7's...
I don't know anything about carvers but I have tried many amps on my XPL200's and and the best amps I have found are the Ashly FET-2000M and FTX-2001. These are mosfet amps with lot of power. I...
Has anyone tried these? I have some bad drivers laying around and was wondering if I could rebuild them with these with good results. Here is an example.

Welcome to Lansing Heritage where the best minds in audio reproduction hang out. Myself not included.
I'm looking forward to that. Beatles are always fun.
This was my solution to the center channel. I'm still using it with my XPL series.

Your question brings up more questions. How do you know when to rebuild your crossovers? How long should they last? All my speakers are around 30 years old. If they are working fine I would not...
Be careful using music subs for movies, it usually does not turn out well as HCSGuy said.
I would be happy to work with both of you. I need to correct something though. Somehow I posted the picture twice. I only have two of the cards on the right (one with resistors on it) and 3 of the...
Here is the printed side of the boards. If anyone knows what they are for chime in.

I have some cards for the DX-1 if anyone needs them. I don't know what they are for but I used the two that were for the XLP-200's and these are different. 87727
I too was lucky enough to find a DX-1 from a member here. It came with a handful of naked cards so I had to build the crossover cards for the XPL-200's. It really does improve the speakers a lot. I...
I remember having one of those. Maybe that is whats wrong with me now
Going on 63 and can't tell much of a difference in the last 10 years. I just look like an old man!
Very cool, older 3 and 4 way JBL's make excellent home theater speakers.
I put thermal switches in mine on the heat sinks. The fan comes on at 120 degrees and go off at 90 degrees so it will cycle on and off unless playing really loud. So the fan does not come on until...
They look good as new! Good job!
If the speakers are good replacing the foam is no big deal. If you have a chance to buy them at a good price you cant go wrong. Hurry and buy them! They are rare and excellent speakers.
I always wanted to hear a pair of those. Almost bought a pair a few years back but something came up. Enjoy and let us know how they sound.
Sweet, some people have all the fun!
It would certainly be a fun learning experience for me.
