Thanks Earl for posting these.
Rob:)
Hello Earl
If you can scan them as Jpegs they should be small enough to post.
Rob :)
Hello Earl
I misread it and then updated

Look at the sticky threads up top for the tech notes

Went back to revisit this and the links seem to be working again?? Do they work for any of you as well??
Rob:)
Hello Ian
Glad you are feeling better. Carry on!!!
...
I am on the opposite coast so I don't know your local situation. I would look for authorized JBL Repair in your area and talk to them and then do a search on them to see what the deal is. The easiest...
Hello
Nice score!! Depends on your skill set. The only things you would need to do is reflow solder connections if needed and Deox and clean the switches and pots while you have them open. Those...
They are the wrong ones. What do you expect for 16K!
Rob:)
Hello Dan
If I remember correctly I called them on the phone. That was a while ago, I would just try again.
Rob
I don't understand the confusion. This speaker systems were made to be used as LRC with a sub. You are going to have a very hard time coming up a better use of these drivers beyond how JBL designed...
"So the instruction on that page for how to modify the links is incorrect, right? Is it possible to have that updated by someone with access? I realize correcting each link is a monumental job for...
Yes I purchased some years ago just go here:
https://ferrofluid.ferrotec.com/products/ferrofluid-audio/apg-s/apg-s38n/
I was able to purchase it in both bulk and in individual recharge packets...
Here is the Ferro
Both compression drivers have 100 ul of APGS38N ferrofluid in the gap. The ferrofluid provides some damping and seals off cavity resonances. Without the ferrofluid the curve gets...
Very nice! They look great!
Rob :)
The 2453 comes with an integrated back cap. The 2452 does not. Do a google search for images. H and J are interchangeable.

Hello Edgewound
Yes and the 1400 has the DF slot vertical which makes a difference with the imaging. That was my point the M2 and 1400 waveguide/horn don't image the same way.
I find the M2 more...
Funny as soon I saw those Keele's CBT came to mind!

I would try to find a pair to listen too. I have a pair if Be CC 1400's and a CC M2 based passive system. IMHO are not the same as far as imaging and depth. The 1400 is a bit more forward than the M2...
It's worth listening to them for yourself. Which one do you like better?? They are both prized vintage systems. I would go with the 130A system. From maintenance point of view original JBL re-cones...
Depends on the amount used vs the gap size. I have seen ferro concentrated on one side as well in the 2341 and 2435 drivers when you take the diaphragm out. The viscosity varies with type.
Rob:)
Here you go! That is woofer to Mid, which crossover do you have up top?? Going to have a hard time with the multitap inductor.
Rob :)
2216nd is the driver used in the M2 already posted a link to purchase on the DIY forum.
Rob :)
What do you have in series with the 2446's?? You should have a protection capacitor and a fixed resistor attenuator pad. Depending on the woofer/midrange sensitivity you could probably drop a 10dB...
