Agreed. The L40, both L110 versions, and the original L150 all shared the 033 phenolic/cloth tweeter. I happen to be one of the small group of die-hard 033 lovers, but they aren't for everyone.

The ringing in my ears really bothered me until the voices in my head started supressing it by 2dB...

Hang on...a lot can happen in two years :spin: !!!
Nice, nice, design John!
"Mini Evlakes"...or how about "Everest AA66000"...
...or, worse yet, "Everest DoubleAA66000"....
Gang, being kind of an "old school" tech with an "old school" bench, I have been very interested in doing some upgrades on my tools using some modern approaches to testing. I have been very keen on...
I am fairly sure my L100T's weren't. They had a sheet of poly foam on either end that protected the top and bottom from the molded styrofoam endcaps, and that was it. JBL probably wanted to prevent...
In a few days, these will be sitting in my shop getting some TLC, and shortly after that will be sitting in my den...never to be parted out as long as I am alive. Nope. No Ebay, no A-gone. No way.

Absolutely true. And that is why the L110 failed miserably in the market when they were introduced. They were such a dramatic departure from the "JBL sound" that consumers thought we were crazy to...
I would do it, Jan. The L110 is not really that well known outside of JBL afficionados, but it was revolutionary for it's day, and even without tweaking is an impressive 3-way "bookshelf" speaker. In...

Thriller is on my short list of reference albums. Quincy Jones and Bruce Swedien were a formidable team for sure. I am looking forward to checking this out. I sure hope the new issue doesn't sound...
I have been restoring several systems over the past couple of months, and I wanted to pass on to everyone what I have found to be a very reasonable source for veneering supplies here in the states. I...
Thanks for the replies everyone. I have decided to tool up and do a run sometime next month at the earliest. The thread is a weird one. 1-3/8"-18 NEF. The taps are not cheap... I will be milling...
I am looking for a source for 1-3/8" inserts for one of my wood horn projects. I will be requiring at least three. There sure don't seem to be any ready-to-go as far as I can tell from a lot of...
Indy, Happy birthday to real pro, and a great guy to boot :applaud:

Is this available to us as a module?
How much per unit?
Where do we buy it?
Do you have any samples available?
Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to do this, Bo.
I've moderated on more than a few forums in my day, and vBulletin can be a bear to work with at times. It is really appreciated.

Just the other day I was wondering what Bob Carver was up to lately...:p
I guess I didn't realize mats was producing them for fellow members. In that case...I'll look into that! Or I can perhaps wait for him to do a run of H4338's someday :applaud:.
I certainly have...
Thank you both, I was actually looking for the H" x W" of the H4338 HF horn itself :).
I am building a set of LCRs, and designing the cabs for a future upgrade to these gems. If anyone has the front dimensions for these, I would certainly appreciate it. Many thanks in advance.

I am going to be selling a few items on Evilbay fairly soon, and I noticed that there is an option to donate a percentage of my sale to a not for profit organization. I would like to donate in this...
Thanks Mr. Widget, that makes sense now. I had assumed all this time that JBL had sandcast both of these bell designs in one piece to achieve the negative curves. And thanks for the CNC info. One...
