Hi folks,
Just wanted to hear some opinions regarding this, and to speak of my own experiences...
Speakers form England such as B&W, KEF, and Celestion - they seem to have this uncolored,...
I suspect that either:
1) the spiders are coming unglued (there are threads on this forum about this problem)
2) the drivers are causing a mechanical vibration in the cabinet (my band had a...

Great post!!! We recently bought a table saw, I spend time trying to square up miter gauge and blade angle etc. I will enjoy reading this site!!
:)
I agree 110% :).
Widget, I say cheers for your taste in loudspeakers and for having the confidence to (drumroll ) give credit to another manufacturer.
Also - remember this:
Even if your cabinets are phased correctly and pass the battery test, you can still have one speaker cable (amp to cabinet) that is reversed.
:D:D
Was thinking of doing something quite similar :D .
Pair of 2404, 2118 crossed at 3k. Extended bass? Just an excuse to build another cabinet to use as a sub :).
Love the cute little compact monitor with the "kick your ass" mug. :D :D
Please allow me to preface my post with this.....
1) This comment is coming from someone who has purchased the following JBL components, in the last year:
2 hf diaphragms
2 hf compression...
toddalin,
Thanks for setting the record straight and for the picture:).
I have experienced the sunfire sub in my home and it is a powerful, useful tool. Regardless of what "JBL Nazis" here...
(((mmmm))) how cool is that!!!
John W - nice work, thanks for the photos of the angle jig and the cabinets.
Dave Matthews Band - Listener Supported :)
Ok, the 4722's are complete. I need to post pics maybe.
Upon the first listen, the highs from both speakers sounded pinched and just plain wrong. I immediately knew why... I had tried to *rescue...
I'd love to respond, however my loudspeaker palette goes outside the realm of JBL. Anyway, here is my contribution, a little pair of drivers for you.
:drive::drive:
Hammond.... Leslie... ((((mmmm)))) ear candy!!! A 15 for the Leslie? I'd recommend the E-140.
You are the MAN!!!! Do you still have and enjoy them?
My advice? Don't spend the rest of your life wondering if you should have bought them. :D
More power. Watts are magical things.
Ok, next... :D
1) Modify a pair of L220's? Wow, the original design sounded pretty damn good to me. I wouldn't change a thing, personally.
2) Seymour Duncan 70 watt guitar amps to run them? I can assure you...
Honk honk!
:D
L222, because I'll never forget the one and only time I had an opportunity to experience them. Here in Spokane we used to have a dept. store called Jafco. They had two audio rooms filled with...
Thanks much for the info :).
