Very nice find! I'm guessing you got them at a very nice price even considering the raw components with xovers are worth a lot. Looks like a very fun project even though the re veneering is a pain....

Thanks very much for the youtube links for Cindy Combs! A bit of a Gibson acoustic freak myself, but that little Martin sounds so very sweet. Love the Martin solos!
Oh wait...Did Buddy do some rap at some point?
Buddy Guy's far from rap! Blues players (ZZ Top, Clapton, BB King, etc) are great in my book. I'm from the rock generation, and Rap just was not music to me.
[QUOTE=soundboy;151523]Being a long time pro guitarist, I tend to get irritable at anything that doesn't have any redeeming melodic content or talent. So, although I disagree with seawolf (some of...
Elvis must have been high butchering a perfectly fine J-200 with that god awful pick guard and fret board inlays.
I remember the two (big) songs In (in 67?) "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore", and "Make It Easy On Yourself" getting a lot of play time on pop 40 stations at the time, but the face and the voice...
It's hard to believe one of the great ones has passed on. Fond memories of listening to him in my teens at Huntington Beach ca.
When you had your 4310's did you replace the cap's? I've heard that brought up on this forum and just curious what your thoughts are. They were made in 1973, so that makes them only 46 years old....
Counterinsurgency training? Sounds a bit like 007. Only one beer? Actually that was about right for your age and income back then, but the girls didn't much care about the money... Good times!
SEAWOLF97, You're showing your age. You know that bridge was completed in 1969? LOL
I still have that old 70's attitude "if it works, fix it" and make it better? It worked on cars/trucks, but... I didn't know beans about speaker technology, but loved to build nice enclosures using...
Believe it or not the bottoms are in good shape (they mostly spent their life in a recording studio before I got them), but to me it would look goofy with the JBL, wording, and numbers upside down. ...
Thanks for the link! That was great, and the utube list on the right below next is Clapton, Mark Knoffler, Phil Collins and Sting with the camera flashing on Collins playing drums several times....
Thanks for clearing things up for me and that makes perfect sense. When I was looking for a pair of L100's in 2003 the 4310's popped up for $300.00 in nice condition and I jumped on them. I guess...
Yeah, I read on this site about the console/mixing thing, but I can't understand why they would build them for home use with the components configured that way unless they figured most who bought...
Hi all. Was wondering why JBL built the 4310's with the woofer on top and the highs on the bottom. I'm thinking they wanted them off the ground/higher off the floor to cut down on the boom? Thoughts?
