I haven't A/Bd'd them personally, but some here feel that the coated SL diaphragms can hold their own - especially in a 2 way situation.
Right, I understand, but you said you couldn't view the link so I posted what was in the link.
I'm pretty sure the plans for the Smith horn & the JBL 2397(? I think that's the one) are both...

The 2450SL is similar to the 2451, different mounting bolt pattern, both 1 1/2" exit (no throat on either). I think it's sebackman tried both the 2450SL and 2451 w/Be phragms and preferred the 2451...
They appear to perform like neither. Frequency response and sensitivity are both pretty far off. This is from posts made by others who bought them, I have never actually owned any.
Simply speakers...
Looks like you've done a good bit of research, just beware the aftermarket ring radiator diaphragms. I can't recall ever seeing a post where somebody bought a pair and they performed as intended. And...
Always made me wonder on compression drivers. The 2451, for example, is listed as "negative" - but the diaphragms for those are physically compatible with drivers not listed as "negative", and the...
Welcome to the forum, your English is fine!
Could be worse, could've hit it with a cut off wheel :applaud:
It's just a flesh wound!
Having the components is a major plus. If it was just the cabinets in that shape it'd be a toss up, but with the innards intact I say go for it.
Huntley Audio was doing replacement grilles for several of the older monitors. Might be able to help.

What exactly is the issue? Again, "not as good" is not a very detailed description. What's "not as good" about it?
You are the one who keeps saying the 4365 crossover is not any good, yet have yet to articulate what the perceived problem with the crossover is.
Point blank: What is the issue with the quality of...
What exactly is the problem with the 4365 crossover? "Very poor" is not a very good description of the perceived problem.
There's a photo of the 4365 crossover in this pdf. It's large enough to be...
I've never seen one cracked open, seems strange that they would Aquaplas a Mg 'phragm.

On the 1501FE driver with cloth accordion surrounds, the coating is specified as Moyen SP706.
I'm not finding that via Google search, but Moyen is still in business.

With two drivers, how about a dipole sub? Not sure 2241s would work for that, and I've never heard one in operation, but they seem to be pretty compact.
Super glue will bond Buna-N o-ring material very well. Buy some bulk o-ring cord of the diameter needed (link has selection menu for cross section size) and cut/glue to length.
There are standard...
The mid/high level controls on the back of the speakers are notorious for giving intermittent service - you might be able to jumper around them or test the drivers (carefully! That tweeter diaphragm...
Different animal altogether, from a different era of 4312, but back in 2011 Harman had a close out sale on a bunch of stuff. I bought a pair of 4312D (black vinyl finish) for $327/ea and they were...
Doc Mark snapped some pics during the throat machining process when we were out there in November 2014. I don't think the final iteration of the molded parts were done for some time after that.

No, the first one made it OK. That's why I decided to keep it instead of holding out for the 1500FEs, the subsequent 1501FE was the damaged driver.
I have a second pair of 435AL drivers, I paid...
I never got a 1500FE, they shipped me a single 1501FE instead. I've used the 435AL on several different 1.5" horns.
