    Jbl hl180f?

Anyone ever hear of a HL180F? I pick up the one recently listed on e-Bay only because it peaked my interest. It's identical to the 175 but has a phenolic diaphragm. Could it be like the 2482 which...

    Thank you guys.

I soaked in acetone overnight and was able to remove a lot of the caulking. The old surround and glue came off fairly easy. I had to soak again overnight and scrape with my...

Anyone come up with a source or alternative to that black gasket that glues to the frame over the edge of the surround on JBL speakers like the LE8T and the LE10A? I have a few drivers missing that...

    Odd labels

Odd labeling. Both are D-130B but one is labeled 32 ohms and the other 16 with 32 written over in faded ink.
    Was there such a thing as a D-130B, 16 ohm? Wouldn't that have just been a D-130A?

The cabinet looks a lot like the Corner Reflex #32 or 33. No Emblem, so assuming custom built to JBL specs.

Attached are pictures taken through the crossover cutout for an N1200 crossover. There appears to be two 15" drivers in each cabinet. Only the low end of the crossover is connected to the speakers in...

I use a 9 volt as well. It moves big cones enough that you can clearly see their direction. I doubt keeping it hooked up very long will do any damage to low end drivers, just not enough wattage.

On compression drivers, if you have red seals on the back cover and don't feel like prying them out to do the battery test, what sort of equipment would you use to check phasing / polarity?

Did they do this with all their older gear? LE15A, LE8T, 375, LE85, 175, 075, 077, etc.? I'm assuming they had to or their own speakers would be out of phase. I wonder when they made the change and...

How to determine proper JBL polarity

Everything I read (non-JBL) says DC current to a speaker pushes the dome or diaphragm outwards. Yet, when I check a know original JBL driver, I get the opposite. I've heard that JBL often wired...

Earl, thank you for your help. I'll run the 2225H and crossover at 800. The 2225 is good to 1200 and I should not have any issues with my LE85 crossing that high.

    Thanks again,

I think you might be right. After my last post I did a little searching. Not as simple or basic as I was hoping. And, lots of power needed for big speaker magnets.
