hi guys, i've been using jbl pro stuff for30 plus years now and i've still got the same question i had years ago-has anyone ever heard of a reason/GOOD reason for jbl pro to be black (positive)?????
russinohio, it's actually called a diffraction or diffusion lens (which explains it a little better) in short, to use your water hose analogy- if you put your hand over the hose but did'nt seal it...
shortyou-the other thing you can do is go active 2 way and stay passive between 2" and tweeter
shortyou-if you use the jbl passive x-over it should be 8 ohms why are you burning up amps? those x-overs might have "issues" if amps keep going down. that might be why previous owner went active 3...
