Agree 100% with widget the bigger the better. Large JBL Horn systems are simply the best.
I would not use fibreglass. Use Mundorf angel hair, I used this in my Everest and it’s awesome.

The experience was at club Chevron in Melbourne in 1989. A pair of JBL 4435 monitors. The obsession began there. Still own these speakers they have sentimental value to me.
I have used the TKD top of the range silver switches in my JBL DD 55000 project and although expensive they are stunning and worth the money.
My advice is to use Mundorf Angel hair. I used this I my JBL DD55000 Everest project I’ve just finished and it’s fantastic.

Thats a great little set up, those jbl’ Punch well above there weight and the SL 1200 is a great table nice work.
Hi never got around to trying them in the 4350’s. I just used the 2231a drivers, it seemed to work well with the 50’s. To me the Alnico magnet drivers sound a slight warm romantic sound which I liked...
The 1400nd is a more modern sound like all the new materials used in current JBL manufacturing. 2234/35 seem to have a bass sound that’s a little separated in sound kind of hard to explain, the 1400...
Hi joe here, I bought the 1400nd of speakerdave for my project. Having owned 4350 and 4435 the dual 1400nd is the best bass I’ve heard to my ears period. As Dave said there accurate and also go deep....
The coppers have good taste here in Victoria.
Hi Tom, i use a Mcintosh mc 352 on thr jbl's with twin nd 1400's and to me it's the best bass i've heard period. lots of factors to maybe think of before buying something.

while i have heard many JBL'S i would say these are my top 5.
1 JBL DD55000 Everest ( i own these and building a pair with SOTA crossovers)
2 JBL DD66000 Everest ( don't own but heard in Bangkok)...
Agree. I own both of these speakers and there amazing. JBL DD55000 are the best looking speaker ever made in my opinion and have a soundstage like nothing i've ever heard period.
joe.
Hi I have 4350's too, i think the 2231a matches the 4350 nicely. the 2235 have a different sound a bit more modern to my ears... and you have 2 sets to try so trust your ears. Nice system BTW.
Joe.
