Hello again, Just to help me with visual clarity on the tuning of the port, Is there any movement on the cone at all when a sine wave is swept from 20 -50 hz and the port hits resonance? Of course...

All the cabinets are separate. Midbase 5/8 mdf with 3/4 inch clad solid walnut sealed . 1 3/8 thick all around. .495 c.ft. 10 inch reconed with JBL kit 2122H, driven by a Pioneer spec 4 in the...
enormous difference pulling out fiberglass from the lower chamber. Raised the second impedance peak up the scale to 43.82 hz. from 32.6 gettin' there I think. Sounds much better.
yeah......I figured that the plinth opening through the floor might be an issue as well as he odd configuration of the lower chamber. I can open it up he plinth another 50 square inches if need be. I...
I have about 1.5 inches on all walls of fiberglass in both chambers
..
the cone never really stops it seems to subjectively to move less at 41hz
I swept again from 10hz to 100.
the 2 voltage peaks appear to be at 13.35 and 32.65hz
the lowest reading between the...
alright, with port installed, the max voltage reading is at 32.66 hz when swept from 25 to 100 hz.....does that sound right? Please forgive my uninformed questions. First shot at this
with approx. (9.96)10 volts through a 1000 ohm resister the lowest impedance reading appears to be at 73 hz. @ 84mv
sweeping from 25-100 hz, there is also an impedance dip to 87mv.@ 27hz
I...
ran test.....as described. There were 2 impedance dips below 100 hz. 1 dip at 26hz with cone movement. The second at 73hz.
what if anything can be deduced from this?
Thank you so much for this helpful information. will consult my 79 year old father inlaw for an interpretation. He has a full understanding of these things electrical...I am limited I regards to...
Thank you, I if I use a volt meter, What would the procedure be? Run a sweep say from25 to 100hz and what should the volt meter read? Forgive my ignorance but, should the volt meter span the input...
Thanks, The pic is up on the gallery of the completed 4 way, with the reconed 223H installed. What would be the best approach to fine tune the duct length in your opinion?
Thanks....I'll post pics on the gallery when done. Anxiously waiting to hear what the double enclosure will sound like. Visually it works real well for me. Quite an optical illusion with such a...
Yes thanks, I have a 5.7 cu ft enclosure. tuning frequency is 32.7.....JBL 2235H driver. Port looks like 2 5/8 straight or 3 5/8 inches long with double flared ends.....Precision Port unit
I think...
JBL kits all the way....for all my stuff....
Ordering my ports today from PE. Is it safe to assume that the Precision Port calculator *Flare length port required* , means total overall length including the flares on both ends?
2235Hs ...
Right....Gotcha and thanks......I misread the chart. Winisd and Precision Port both call for a round 4 inch duct 2 3/4(ish) long. The vent mach is about 11 which shows up green in winisd . There...
[QUOTE=grumpy;354698]32Hz tuning in a 5.5ft3 box? 3/4 port depth => ~6in2 port area ... which will whistle pretty badly at higher volume levels... maybe think about a shelf type port (1x15" and 5"...
Hi Lee and thanks. The conversion table does not allow me to install duct length....it does it for you. I'm trying to determine how many square inches would be required for a simple rectangular port...
Ok Guys and Gals, I'm down to the short strokes on the 2235H enclosure. For design purposes, I've decided to go with a vent instead of a duct. Could anyone here calculate vent area in square inches...
btw Lee, I modeled the 077 mount after your design...with a twist...lol
For my design, the optimal large duct(s) size is not conducive to the design. I will house the 2235 driver in a 1.7 cu ft enclosure that can be seen, and the rest of the volume will be in an...
