    They sound good

I have a pretty mint pair of 9595's with the MI9584 drivers. It's a great sounding horn, rated to 200hz by RCA. Very smooth dispersion, even when listening from not that far away. Definitely better...

    Those are the current ones...

Find pics of some of the old ones and you will see what I mean even more. Like T725, T800, etc. Sometimes they can be found on Ebay, usually the foriegn versions (Ebay.de, ebay.uk, ebay.france, etc.)...

    Older Fostex

Almost certainly older fostex, from the look of it.

they had a whole series with that shape, and that wooden mount is common to them too.

Their current bullet-type tweeters walk all over...

    as in how much?

it's about $3k + options (balanced out, dig. out, preamp built in)... I got mine w/ Balanced and single-ended outs and the preamp option.

Does a lot for that price, IMHO though.

    I have one

It's a great unit. I bought it to use on the 4- or 5-way horn system I am working on. I haven't had a chance to get into it yet, but just reading the manual shows that it's a very powerful tool. I...

    cool, thanks!

    Thanks for the info guys!

the Ti10k was the other one on display.

Still, lame they weren't playing them, but not surprising given the complete lack of marketing of these in the states.

    WTF...

JBL S9800 available in the USA?

I just got back from the Montreal hi-fi show this past weekend. In one room, JBL was showing off some stuff, including a single JBL S9800, and a big wood-veneered speaker, something-Ti (not 250Ti but...
  9. DEQX - the solution.

The DEQX PDC 2.6 is pretty much exactly what you are looking for, Don. It uses a PC and calibrated mic for measurement, but has a stand-alone unit with 10 bands of parametric EQ per channel, a 3-way...

... so since you guys love the Ti diaphragms so much (which is fine w/ me!), any nice reasonable priced 2440 aluminums you have hanging around, unused, that you can part with? ;-)

    my application...

I have a set of 2395's with horns and brackets that I was thinking about parting with soon. In good shape, a little paint flaking but not bad. Feel free to email if you are interested. The Asian...

Clearly they must be different. The drivers alone could account for that, to say nothing of internal construction. I am sure the new ones go much higher in freq. than a hartsfield, and probably lower...

    they can afford to

For $30k/pr, I would sure as hell hope they can afford to have them custom made. I listened to those for a while (the hartsfields) and while good, you can buy an original pair, a ton of interesting...

    hi Mike -
likely some sort of UHF/VHF radar tube from the looks of it. Perhaps something like WE 316A or something. Check www.duncanamps.com - good tube data sheet locator there.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. I am not too familiar with 2397 - will look those up. The 2395's certainly are no slouches... (there's a set getting pretty bid-up on Ebay, @ $910+ for the...
