Yes, both on the 811 in the cabinet. The 902 backs are the larger type, with felt, not the loading caps. I think I still have the loading caps somewhere.
I finally tweaked the measurements to gate out the floorbounce, anechoic down to 340Hz:
1. 9844 with active crossover, Altec 902 (RED) vs. BMS 4552ND
2. 9844 with 902 driver on Z19N passive...
Some preliminary FR measurements here.
A long time ago Zilch suggested I combine the low pass from the N800F with the high pass of the Z19.
So I did, finally, substituting the 2.7 mH coil with a 3.5 mH. The 21 uF cap is now a 10.5 uF...
Thank you, Zilch.

Earl,
I've been meaning to get some open cell foam a la Geddes and stuff it between the vanes to hear what happens.
When I get the loading caps back on I'll re-measure with better tools than I...
Earl, are you saying I should re-measure the 902s with the loading caps back on? I think I kept them.
Not necessary, I'm sure he read my response.
Have fun, kids.
Hi,
Can't respond to your PM, tried.
To answer your question,
I used an Epson Workforce 310 scanner/printer. Too small to do the entire ad in one scan.
I don't understand why you replied "no"...
I made some scans:
42664
42665
42666
Updating...the unit is still running no problems. The "HD" stations I listen to have changed their processing dramatically since I first bought this, and now the digital signals are better than the...
Hey Martin....
Earl has some amazing data and I'm sure he'll pop in.
Saw ur post in DIY.
Dr. Earl,
Looks good 1.2 to 16k +/- 4 dB without the notch. I'd think a lot of 802 users might want to try this.
When you rig them into a box sooner or later, I'd be interested to know how the...
The experience you guys have accumulated boggles the mind and is well respected.
As an aside, last week I dragged out the 9844s and used them in a playback system for a documentary production...
Earl,
Considering you are using 1/24 octave smoothing, that looks real good. You're also running 5dB per major division, so even more so.
Are you considering LCR notch filters for the 9k and...
Re-measured Atec 9844-8Bs with stock crossover and HF driver (902-8B) with Fuzzmeasure, 1 meter: 39184
Compared to Zilch's measure of 902/811B w/M19 crossover, below:

I'm getting a back stage tour of the Loew's Jersey City, 1929, and I am particularly interested in the sound repro system. I'm told it is a mix of "old and new." I know they have functioning carbon...
Stand proud!
Guess I'm out!
If there is an accepted basic reference standard library, it might be good to float those titles to see what people think. If those references are acceptable, they might be used to resolve inevitable...
Thank you Peter, I appreciate the clarification.
I can see it your way.
In the meantime Widget and Cooky have made interesting comments.
In post #5 I said converters are so much better. I introduced that concept into the thread. And it is cogent. So, Ian agrees with me. AOK.
I do my best to try and follow others' posts. Sometimes...
Not at all. It seemed you were confused as to which thread you were posting in.
Are you offended because I said "...it's unlikely the end listener will ever know exactly what went on."?
That's...
Perhaps your statement could be taken as a bit condescending. I don't see how mine is. Or were you addressing your own statement, Ian?
:dont-know
I was referring to a project recorded in a DAW...
I don't follow....
Did you read my post?
