My old (new then) 4350's with a phase 400 and 700 peaked just shy of 130dB. In a large, reflective room with the needles pegged. Just for a few seconds of course - just to see what they were capable...
There are people who make a living today trying to make the old Flame Linear stuff not so terrifyingly destructive. Make sure you hook up with one of them before you take sweetliberty's...
Must admit being not up with the latest amps. I recommend a Phase Linear 400 or 700 power amps. My L212's never sounded so good on a Phase 400 -(L212's are very similar to your 112's). It went DC and...
[quote=Mr. Widget;212092]Correct me if I am wrong, but as I recall that would mean that you have two 15" woofers and the 2202 all playing through the midbass and until the 15s naturally peter out. I...

As long as your top end is wired correctly you can't damage any of the speakers. You don't want to send LF signals meant for the 12" to the comp driver or tweeter. The 12" has a stiff...

They look marvelous. I still have the original JBL 4350 active xover - 250hz. You are welcome to have it - if you pay for shipping.

I remember hearing SR8 Sovereigns in about 1970 - sexy beasts. To expensive- had to come down the line to L77's - Lancers. Great speakers took them everywhere with me. Just something about JBL, build...
Hi Jacob
I am not familiar with the NAD power amp. I assume (as most amps have) it has a common power supply. The problem must be in the power supply for the power amp.
I had a different problem with my 212's bass amp. About 2 watts output only. The repair was simple and cheap. 2 faulty capacitors about 3/4" long (C8 and 7) restored the amp to as good as new.
Why do some contributers place so much importance of speaker impedance graphs? Apart from the obvious demand placed on amps. Can anyone please explain this?
Zilch much apreciated. I will keep an eye out for them
Thanks again.
OK I just read the link.
Thanks again zilch.
That circuit diagram is most usefull.
They sound a little "nasel" on male vocals. Like a singing through a 3" tube. Turning down the le5 midrange improves this but at the...
Thanks zilch however I just replaced the original caps with solens. Charged coupled or bypassed caps? What do you think?
I love these speakers but there is room for improvemnet.
Hi all
Being a JBL freak from way back. L77, L200's, 4350, and finally L212 - never been happy with anything except JBL.
I have just partially restored a pair of L212's. Very happy with the...
Thats $400 USD for a set ..ouch! Probably now made in China. :(
Yep - sounds like it.

Unfortunately, tweeter A066 is no longer available, but you can make it repair with diaph kit # D8R066, which is still available.
Would you please get in...
:applaud: Harmon says they produce a diaphram kit for the 066's called the diaph kit # D8R066. Contact your local JBL distributer.

Thank you. I am sorry if I have offended 4350 owners. However these speakers were designed for control rooms. Those horns did not work so well in a domestic enviroment .. in a large room with good...
I just saved a pair of JBL 212's that a friend was about to throw out. Cosmetic damage (easily fixed) and a 066 tweeter that sounds scratchy and distorted on some notes.
In comparison with my old...
