    maybe reconed

    Hello,

I think your 605a with red surrounds are reconed. Maybe they have a new HF diaphragm as well? I have 3 605a and one was reconed long ago with the same red surround.

    Hello Steve,

I recall from this forum that the 2251j-1 adds aquaplas and a mass ring, maybe 10 grams for the aquaplas and 10 more for the mass ring.

    Best Regards,

    oasr is 7/8 inch

    Hello,

Be aware that the oasr has a 7/8 inch throat while the bms 4540 has a 1 inch throat. Be sure your driver has a 7/8 throat, I wish I did before I bought the oasr. Perhaps the 2407 throat...

    2407

    Hello,

The 2407 looks very much like the bms4540nd. The DDS eng1-90 horn works well with it if you want a 90 degree round horn.

I recommend the BMS 4540nd and DDS ENG 1-90 Pro horn.

    another cabinet

    Hello,

Here is another Altec cabinet to consider. I think it will fit into a home better than the A5/A7 series and the dual woofer will increase efficency to better suit your low power amp.

    2226 cabinets

    Hello,

I think the 2226 is generally used as a direct radiator, not in a horn. The JBL 4648A is an example.

    Hello,

The 8024 full scale input is +22dBu while the deq2496 has switchable input levels of +12 or +22. So with home gear the 8024 is losing 10dB of signal to noise ratio to the 2496.
