The switch on the back said +2 and I have the 095 mid so it's definitely an XPL140. This still doesn't tell me much about the crossovers. I want to build them from scratch and keep the original ones...
Here are the pics of my crossovers.
I know how to make the charge coupled stuff, but I have a lot to learn about the rest of the circuit. I will build from scratch, I don't want to mess with the...
Thanks for responding. I wondered if these could be some early version. I suppose they are, but there's no way to get any info on these things. I have no problem building the charge coupled portion...
I wanted to make charge coupled crossovers for my XPL140s. I built them according to the XPL140A schematic. I was gonna pull the capacitors and wire the charge couple capacitors in their place. When...
I've always been happy with my L100s and S412s, but I've always wanted to get a taste of high end JBLs. I finally bought a pair of XPL 140s off of someone on facebook. He misrepresented the condition...
Thaanks Don, appreciate it. i'm hoping one of the repair experts on here can help with this. I don't want to mess with them, my hands just ain't what they used to be. I have a few bucks set aside for...
I got a pair of XPL 140s on their way here. Been reading up on them. Are there foam inside the mid range and the tweeter that breaks down after a while? Can it be replaced? I saw some things on line...
I just had to send my second amp in for repairs. It's hard to find places to do it, it costs a fortune and they take forever to get it back. They are both fine for now, but it's probably just gonna...
Agreed, take the money and get better stuff.
There's plenty of that going around these days:banghead:
I am playing on a Sony ES999 with all the Mod-Wright upgrades. My DAC is not in the same class as yours, but the preamp sounds a lot better than the digital outs into the receiver.
I'm playing on a 7.1 system, not the computer. I don't believe the individual flaws in the pits are duplicated. A better laser should burn more precisely, like in Blue Spec CDs. They are burnt with a...
The burner doesn't duplicate the flaws in the pits and that information is not saved. It takes the 1s or 0s from storage and lays them down more consistently and precisely. This is counter-intuitive,...
It burns the pits more precisely than the industrial burn of the original. This is opposite of analog which goes downhill with each succeeding copy. The CD can be copied with the ones and zeros...
I've been hanging out on sites where I stand less of a chance of putting my foot in my mouth, but this is too good. I googled "best cd burner for audio" and replace my $15 burner for a Plextor 891SAW...

These should work together nicely.
I have had both, now I have a pair of L100s with charge-coupled crossovers. The 112 should sound a lot better. It has a way better crossover and all the drivers are more advanced. Many folks on...
A nice 70s reciever or amp with continuosly variable tone controls can sound great with these speakers. The last thing you want is something that has tone controls with 1 or 2 db increments. You...
Even the XLS 1500 is an amazing subwoofer amp :applaud:
I got some 117H 8 inch woofers with stuck voice coils. They would be good practice for refoaming. PM if interested.
What are those monsters behind the 4435s with the tweets showing? Most impressive collection :applaud:
An L16 might work out nicely. It has a similar tweeter and an 8" woofer. It's a nice sounding speaker. It's got to be better match than the S-Center. Of course, you can't go wrong with a third L100.
Shows you what I know:dont-know::dont-know:. There is an "insert image" button 6 icons over from the right, lower line. Have you tried that?
