Hi,
i have just finished upgrading my jbl L26 with the Gravesen crossover upgrade, new acoustic damping/felt, etc.
The difference is stunning.
A simple recap would no dout have improved tnem,...
K
Thanks...every bit helps.
I think tney are moreorless identical to tne 4312b (except the finish) , but not certain.
I have picked up a pair of jbl 4312mk2.
Finding it difficult to get any info, etc on tnese.
When made, any good, etc?
Thanks for any info..
Are solen caps fine for use in the gravesen upgraded crossover?
Which caps should i use?
what do people tend to use in their jbls? Ie which make?
it does seem wuite an expensive fix.
i wonder if anyone has done it who can comnent on tne results.
After 45 years, how much of a difference will there be?
any exeriencees?
trying to decide if it i cost effective as diy out of tne question.
thanks
Are jbl 4412* a good choice?
Thanks for the reply.
it has to be done as they deserve it.
Luvly condition and i really like the sound.
Not sure about the crosdover upgrade.
i don’t want to change the sound chatacteristics.
Any info?
i really want to redo tne crossovers.
just lever them out or?
Foam surrounds i am fine with.
Just finished refoaming jbl L26.
The guy wants 900 usd.
More than i was expecting.
Maybe i should try tne L100, as i like tne L26 and L50 sound.
The 240ti are priced around tne L100 mark, so maybe better to go for the L100?
I am also a little concerned about reading of tweeter foam rot. Not fixable?
Just noticed a pair of jbl 240ti just around the corner from me.
Good speakers?
I take it tbey are a different era/sound?
thanks
I have a pair of decade L26 which have just been refoamed, nnew binding posts, which will be recapped soon when i get tne courage up to taking out tne stapled in crossovers.
Really like these alot....
I unglued from tne frane and tnen redid it.
i got lucky.....no rubbing anywhere whatsoever.
sounds excellent.
very pleased.
The problem i had with rhe 30hz nethod was i wasn’t sure what...
Does it count as rubbing if one has to push slightly off centre to get it to rub?
It seemed fien when glueing, but after 2 hours i am not so sure now.
As i said, the other has no rubbinng...
Well i just refoamed the woofers on soem jbl l26.
I used the 30hx method.
One seems good, not sure about the other.
On the good one...werever i press on the cone it is silent...no rubbing at...
Hi
my jbl L26 crossovers have tne crossovers stapled (not screwed) to the inside of the cabinets.
i think there may also be a circle of glue around tne treble tone control to keep the crossover...
Hi,
i have a pair of JBL L26 that need refoaming.
Where is the best place for foam surrounds?
How do i remove the crossover?
Is it glued in or screwed etc?
