Sure is nice to see it big on the cover of the magazine.
One of my favorites. The legendary Christine Perfect. Before Fleetwood Mac. Hard to find, but well worth searching for.

Nice!
Congratulations to you, nice work!
Turns out to be an interesting story, but it's not an econowave. An 8 inch public address driver repurposed. Based more on research of articles in older Japanese audio magazines.
And apparently...
I happened across a video that discusses them.

Google says, Japan market subwoofer, to pair with their mini 4312s. Cool looking.
Don't we all have a character flaw or two? Cut some slack.
Here's something from my JBL folder.
Yes, still solid wood then.
There are so many different version of this speaker, you should be more specific. On the original version from the 70s, the trim at the edges of the foam is solid wood.
I think it's going to be Peter Aczel's favorite, the Waveform Mach.
Sorry, as far as I know the schematics for the first versions are not online anywhere. I asked here years ago. Maybe build your own XPL140A crossovers from scratch? It might be better to keep your...
There were three different ones though. Giskard mentioned the 2235HS once. I have two woofers here from S2S. One has aquaplas and the other doesn't. It probably has a mass ring instead. I don't want...
I have a few LE20-1 tweeters, they all just have solder lugs instead of the spring loaded terminals, so that's normal.
They look correct to me. I've seen others with the size adapters like that and the workmanship looks like JBL.
See if the dimensions match C53....
If there is some voice coil wire still available to solder to, it's pretty easy to fix. You're just making continuity through the coil, if you have that it will work again. You probably have to...
It's kind of hard to see the tweeters, but they resemble some Phillips tweeters that I've seen.
The midrange dome has a ring of foam behind the diamond surround area. There is also foam in the back cap. Nowhere near the dome, just damping the inside of the housing. Just my own opinion, it's not...
I wonder if the tweeter could be made functional by unwinding half a turn from each end of the voice coil and soldering the ends to the posts again. If its scrap now, experimenting with it can't make...
Wow, what a great find. You're lucky that I didn't see them first. Mismatched JBL speakers are common, because they changed the spec frequently, but didn't mark anything on the outside of the box....
I think that it's because we have tech sheets from JBL that suggest later replacements from JBL. Not so for the L110 though. These older systems tend to have L-pads that allow the user to adjust...
I've finally reached the point of being fed up with the Brystons, and I've added a Monoprice 7X to my system. Looks like the same amp as the Crestron and ATI branded product, and Outlaw and JBL have...
