Thank you very much Rob, much appreciated.
Hello,
It's time to refoam LE14H-1's on my beloved 250TI Jubilee's.
Since I don't have any experience I will take it to a professional and have it done as I don't want to take unnecessary risks....
Finally happened....while painting the house one of the workers must have pressed his finger (God knows why?!) to the tweeter and damaged 050 Gold tweeter of my Century Gold.
Only one of them is...
Oh, Yamaha made some very fine speakers for sure...
Their best is probably the Yamaha GF-1 from 1991 which received COTY award with a price tag of 70.000$
Btw, I'd LOVE to get my hands...
After spending 6 months or so trying to buy the best speaker with my 2k budget, I finally decided (with help of this forum as well) to acquire the 250Ti.
I was looking for the classic 250Ti in teak...
Here are my systems for all JBL/Technics afficionados out there in the world.
I will try to write them in detail as these babies mark almost the end of the road for me.
I never found myself...
Yes, I'm aware of both, Altmann DAC and two schools of thought...
I am on the non-upsampler side and my budget is 1500$ tops.
That is why I wonder about Benchmark DAC1 USB.
If only Altmann...
What do you guys think of Benchmark DAC1 USB?
It is supposed to take care of jitter problem for good with its own circuitry.
It has a 1k+ price tag but is it worth it?
I am planning to upgrade...
Speaking of VU power meters, here are some shots from Technics SE-A5mk2 power amplifier:

Ditto.
I am also in love with 80's stereo gear which sound quite superior to today's surround system sounds.
But this is again when listening to music recorded on a stereo source.
I believe...
Thanks boputnam, will sure do!
Good point indeed.
I was mainly aiming to compensate for acoustic anormalies specifically for my own chair in my room. This is the chair on which I mostly listen to music.
But I see your point.
...
What do you guys think about using EQ/RTA and trying to obtain flatness instead of acoustic treatments?
Former seems like a more dynamic solution to me, on the other hand the latter is fixed with...
OMG!:jawdrop:
They are certainly popular in England!
Check this!
Hmm, now I'm definitely looking forward to a comparaison with 240ti. :p
Hi,
I own Technics SU-A6, SU-A6mk2, SU-A4mk2 pre-amps.
I always use them in DC setting.
As you can tell, I love that vintage Technics sound, it is simply superb. (I'm talking about SE-XX series)...
250TI is an excellent choice. :bouncy:
I'm using one, and it blew B&W Nautilus, Klipsch, and quite a number of others I tried. :D
Thank you Titanium Dome. :)
I guess I should have used the mighty Search button!
The 240ti i'm getting uses 104H as midrange. One of the drivers has a 'pushed in' dustcap. Nothing serious I imagine except cosmetics??
What is the difference between 104H and 104H-2 ?
Maybe problem is the Krell's not Proacs. :dont-know
I've heard about this in many places about Krell not performing well enough. (compared with others in same league like Mark Levinson etc)
I am using Sony CDP-X777ES which has balanced XLR outputs...
I must say it is very nice, built like a rock. :)
So good that the new 24/192 Arcam had to go to living room. :p
Sony stayed in...
Thank you. :)
I recently got a 240ti (still otw to me) and its woofer foams needs replacing.
This will be my first woofer replacement so what should I do (or not do?)
Are original foams still available? if not...
Thank you all for great replies!! :):)
I think I will try to get a NS-2000 and I will post how I find them compared to 240ti (which is otw).
I don't think it will be fair to compare it with 250ti...
I wanted to ask forum members about these speakers.
As I mentioned to my Audio dealer friend my desire to get a 240ti for my room, he somehow strongly urged me to get Yamaha instead?! especially...
Thank you Giskard!! :)
Please let me know soon if that other forum member doesn't want your 240ti's, I will get them.
